This is the Redcat Ascent 18 Scout ii. I just changed out it's shocks yesterday to the INJORA 59mm Long Threaded Oil Shocks with 25wt oil and it's having extremely poor rebound. When I turn my RC while driving, it leans and then stay leaned.

It does this with and without all the acessories on the car.

Things that I have already done to troubleshoot:

- removed all the oil and refilled it + bleed out all the air

- tried new

softer and stiffer springs

- ran it without oil (still does the same thing without oil in the shocks)

- adjusted the preload to all types of heights

- ran it without all the top heavy acessories

- oiled the O-rings

- loosened the cap where the O-ring is

Any help or advice or criticism is appreciated. I'm desperate, please help!!

Hey 👋 brand new to crawling and loving this little guy so I wanted to introduce myself and the mini rig.

I couldn't help but customize the body to make it mine!

Trying to add a bit of scale look for when I'm just chilling in the yard. It utilizes factory mounting so you can swap back and forth between this and the included lexan body whenever you want.

Matching yeti cooler in the back. Need to make some more scale accessories to add in the bed next!

Changed out the wheels to some heavy Batrazzi that I had mounted with Injora tires and inserts.

Installed a couple goodies today:

• Brass Injora high clearance suspension links
• Stainless drive shafts Injora Unnecessary really but I can’t help myself. Only planning a couple more things before I consider it done (performance wise that is..)

Brand new to the hobby btw got this Apex18 as my first rig last month and loving every minute of it 🤙

SDRC Crawl Shop Unlimited body, Injora transmission, purple motor, drive shafts, high clearance links, wheels (I think?), and tires. Treal outer brass portal covers on the front only, and brass steering link. Meus brass diff cover on the front. I painted it rough so it would hopefully look more weathered. I might re-paint it at some point. The high clearance links expose the drive shafts, but that has not been a problem so far. The stock shocks seem to perform well.

First RedCat. It's so good I tore down my oldest SCX24 build (LGRP Comp Chassis), there's nothing I could have done to get it close to the Apex's performance out of the box.

1.3 Hard Park wheels w/ positive offset, Razor Wires stretched to fit with Meus pink inserts. Absolutely killer combo for my rocks.

RCS710 links - much improved clearance, but the rear upper links are longer than stock, clocks the axle up enough to angle the portal boxes angled forward quite a bit. Enough to look kinda wonky. Driveshaft clearance is much better which I am assuming was the reasoning, but wondering if geometry is negatively impacted? Still climbs like a goat so keeping it that way for now.

828RC droop shocks are on the way, never ran that kind of setup before so excited to see if it's a net improvement or not.

INJORA 1.3" Aluminium Beadlock Wheels -5.25mm offset on 5mm brass hexs, pin tires and the yellow silicone inserts.

INGORA shocks that I changed the oil to 20w anti-foam motorcycle shock oil.

INJORA drive shaft.

REDCAT over and under drive totaling a 31% difference in wheels speed from front to rear. Then some cosmetic ano from REDCAT.

Hello all. I just got the brushed model and, part way through installing meus brass portals, discovered that the mounting for these is completely different/with a much lower mount point.

Does anyone know what axle these portals for or the right portals for my axle?

This was a very unpleasant surprise.
