Have you introduced people to the show

I have gotten my mom and cousin into the show and they are invested! They love Rupert (“he must be stopped”, “no blue pill needed“) as well as the other character. Have you all introduced new people to the show?!

Show vs Book

I’ve been reading the book for the past weeks and i can’t help but feel like the show is so much better. Does anyone else feel this way? I feel like the characters are much more fleshed out, the book almost seems like it can’t keep up with how many characters. The story is damn near the same but the characters are much more likeable. I was surprised how much the book is about mainly Rupert.

What chapter do taggie and rupert get together in the book?

hello! I just finished watching all the rivals episodes and wanted to read the book. I'm mainly focused on taggie and rupert and wanted to know when they get together? Also if they ever have sex in the books?

my controversial opinions

Might come off as controversial to some people but i just finished the series and came here to express my thoughts:

  1. Taggy is the most beautiful woman Ive ever seen, she’s just gorgeous and mesmerising.

  2. Declan’s character is so hot, and the type of person he’s been shown in the show is like peak hotness, apart from the way he treated maud obviously.

  3. Rupert shouldn’t end up with taggy, he’s just not the kind of person she deserves, i mean its very unlikely someone like him changes in real life, but if he does in the series that will look kinda fake. INSTEAD taggy should end up with Bas, I kinda like his character too and also he’s kinda attractive as well.

  4. I do not sympathise with maud on the same level people do, I mean yea she did leave her career and her life to be with declan, but in her own ways she was making it upto it by doing what she wanted.

  5. This is kind of like a question, I don’t understand how Tony is so kind with his family and not with the other people, since English is not my first language, and I saw the whole show without subtitles, I kinda probably didn’t get the whole thing, also i haven’t read any books.

This post is an expression of my thoughts, please be respectful in the comments, if you don’t agree, well that’s your choice, if you want to correct something, please do so, one to hearing all your thoughts.

theories and plots you want to see on second half

Please do not read further if not caught up on series or aware of teaser for part two/theories for part two scenarios. Just a fun discussion!

List your favorite theory on a storyline and how it may be portrayed/end in season 2.5. What are you eager to know about? Who do you want to see coupled or uncoupled? What secrets do you want the answers to and what is your theory? What new characters are you most interested in and who/what will they impact going forward?

Just some more questions to consider and share your thoughts! Thanks!

On rewatching the seasons 1 and 2, what have you noticed you didn't catch the first time around? (may contain spoilers if not up to date on all episodes)

I find the show to be one that as a new episode is released, you can see the connection to past episodes and seemingly throw away lines yet everything gets connected. It's so fascinating the skill of the writers and actors to portray so much in verbal and nonverbal communication that you catch more from the rewatching and looking at every microexpression and what is both said and unspoken. Is there a scene that you have found that connected to an earlier episode and it makes you go hmmmm?

Taggie’s outfit S2 Golden Gauntlet

Anyone know the combination of dress and shirt that Taggie wears during the filming of the Golden Gauntlet? Or have you found anything that’s really similar in style?!

Opinions on the book Rivals

I finished the TV series a while ago and, like many of you, I was really missing it, so I decided to read Rivals by Jilly Cooper.
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I ended up feeling a little disappointed.
My biggest issue was how Taggie was portrayed in the book. To me, she often felt like someone who was simply carried along by events rather than making her own choices. I think the TV adaptation did a much better job of developing her character and showing her growth.
I also felt that the relationship between Taggie and Rupert was handled much better in the series. In the book, their romance seemed much more rushed, whereas the show really made me believe in the feelings developing between them over time.
One thing I absolutely hated was how quickly Declan accepted Rupert’s proposal to marry Taggie. After everything that happened, I expected at least some hesitation, discussion, or conflict. Instead, it felt like he agreed almost immediately, and then suddenly Maud was completely supportive of the marriage too. The whole thing happened in what felt like a page or two, and it just didn’t ring true to me.
And overall, I really didn’t like how quickly the ending was wrapped up. It felt like everything was crammed into the last 30 pages without enough space to breathe. I was especially surprised by how little attention was given to what happened afterward to characters like Tony, Freddie, and Lizzie.
Am I the only one who feels this way? I’d love to hear what other readers thought, especially those who watched the show first and then read the book.

Question about the Backstories of Rupert/ Bas friendship

hi! So I'm in bed sick, unable to go out to a bar to watch the Norway World Cup game in NYC :( And I've been re-watching Rivals. It made me think about how in a small village, a lot of the characters grew up together, but I'm curious and cannot find any backstory of Tony/Bas/Rupert. Maybe it's in the book (haven't read them and hesitant to do so based on the SA:/)

How do Rupert and Bas meet and become friends? I'm looking into it, and they say in school, but Tony went to public school, so why wouldn't Bas, who's his stepbrother but raised by the same parents, also go to the same school?
