Battery bleeding out in 2 days of non usage

Good day all. I’ve recently replaced the RR unit on my GT 650. Renewed the relays as well. Everything seemed well for a couple of days. But for the past two weeks, battery dies within 2-3 days if I don’t use it. I suspect some equipment is bleeding the power. Got the battery tested, and the battery health is still good. It’s one year old battery.

My Royal Enfield GT 650 ownership experience - something to think about before buying

Posting this for awareness, especially for anyone considering buying a Royal Enfield.

I own a Royal Enfield GT 650 and recently gave it for service at an authorized service centre - Mass Wheels, Taliparamba, Kerala.

A brief summary of my experience:

  • The bike stayed at the service centre for close to two weeks for a regular service.
  • When I got it back, I noticed yellow stains on the fuel tank that were not present earlier.
  • The tank was clean when I handed the bike over.
  • The marks now seem permanent and don’t go away with normal cleaning.
  • The service centre says they don’t know how it happened.
  • I reached out to Royal Enfield support with photos, but haven’t received any response so far.

I’m not posting this as a complaint or to attack the brand. I’m sharing this because after-sales support and accountability matter as much as the motorcycle itself.

Royal Enfield bikes may look great and feel solid to ride, but based on my experience, I’d suggest thinking carefully about the service ecosystem and support before making a purchase decision.

Posting this so prospective buyers can make a more informed choice.

Finally got my GT650

As long as I can remember, I’ve always been into motorcycles. I guess this trait was passed down to me by my father. He owned a Thunderbird 350, and I absolutely loved that machine. He was into cruisers, and so was I — but somewhere along the way, I realized I also loved bikes with a more aggressive stance. That’s when I discovered café racers.

I was 16 when I first saw the GT 535 in red, and I instantly fell in love. Every single time I saw one on the road, I’d quietly say to myself, “One day.”

Coming from a middle-class family, I knew it was a long shot. But somehow, deep down, I always believed it would happen.

And today… it finally did.

My very own GT650 is standing right in front of me. All mine.

For years my Instagram feed was filled with GTs, ride videos, exhaust notes, and dream builds. And now I have my own machine.

Super emotional day for me. ❤️

NEED URGENT HELP - GT 650 Howling Noise!

So it's been 3 months since I bought my GT 650 and yesterday was my first long trip for around 400Kms up and down. I was constantly cruising at around 100-120kmph on highways. After I reached the destination, I started hearing this humming/ howling noise from the bottom of the tank. I mean it's not so loud, but I could definitely notice it when hitting speed breakers, while engaging the clutch and during 1st and second gears. Now that I have noticed the sound, I cannot unhear it.

Today morning, I rushed to my nearest Royal Enfield service centre and got it inspected by a technician. After test driving it, he said that it is normal and there's nothing to worry about. When he touches the tank, the sound reduces a bit (can be heard slightly still). And tonight, I went down to my local service shop and the guy said the same thing, it's normal.

But I'm kinda worried since yesterday cuz this was not how it was sounding yet. I tried searching on YouTube regarding the issue and found one video stating the exact issue. That is the video I have attached here. I couldn't record it properly on my phone.

On the YouTube video, he has stated that there was an issue with the fuel pump and hence the sound. When he got it replaced, the sound vanished is what he has said.

So what should I do now? Is this normal or am I overreacting? Or is this something that will settle in a couple of days?

Much appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Interceptor 650 tyres recommendation

Hey everyone,

I own a 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 with stock spoke wheels/rims and I don’t plan on converting to alloys — I actually prefer the classic spoke wheel look.

Current tyre setup:
- Front: 100/90-18
- Rear: 130/70-18

I’m considering upgrading to:
- Front: 110 section
- Rear: 140 section

Mainly looking for a slightly bulkier/more planted stance without ruining the handling or causing fitment issues.

Wanted to ask:
- Is 140 rear + 110 front a good setup on the stock spoke rims?
- Any chain clearance, swingarm, mudguard or handling issues?
- Does the stock rim width properly support a 140 rear?
- Any tyre brand recommendations for this setup?
- Would you personally suggest sticking to 130/100 instead?

Would love to hear from people actually running this configuration on stock Interceptor spoke wheels.

Thanks!

Pre or post rebuild?

Had a somewhat neat looking build before I had a small crash, decided to change things up and ordered a few extra things that would make give the bike an overall better look. Had the 2x1 earlier now I got the 2x2 dustlands Mekha full system.

Posting here to showcase my biggest accomplishment :)

Feel free to ask me about any of the mods done on the bike!

2.5 years and 10,000 mile review, Continental GT 650

Welp. 2.5 years and 10,000 miles. And still going strong. Just wanted to give. Long term review and what she's like to live with. Her name is Valarie.

I'll get the bad out of the way. The problems I've had, and any annoyances.

I will say the stock grips, while not horrible. They get uncomfortable after a while. I plan to upgrade to the new barrel grips on the new bikes.

This might be a short person problem. But I do find the peg and seating position annoying. When you stop the peg is in the natural foot rest position. I've gotten used to it. But it's there lol.

When I got the bike, it had a starting issue within a week. It was the way too much electrical grease issue. A cleanup and that was over. I blame the dealer more than royal enfield for that.

The worst thing with the bike is the tach malfunctioned on me. It's jammed at 1000k and reads 1000k high through the rpm range. It's covered under the warranty. They have my part and I just need to schedule it. And honestly. I've been riding motorcycles for 33 years. I don't even pay attention to the tach. I don't need it. It is a problem. But not a big one at all.

Now the good parts of living with my Enfield and even some of my mishaps.

Overall living with this bike has been fantastic. She is my daily driver. And all weather. It's southern California so just rain, no snow. I've done 600 mile trips, and could have gone longer. And I commute daily.

Around town riding she does just fine at. I know they aren't the lightest feeling bikes. But they are quite nimble. My 250 does much better at town riding. The less weight and smaller size makes it a beast at traffic. But the Enfield is more than competent.

Hitting the back roads is where this bike shines best. The narrow tire profile makes the bike so flickable. And it's only got 47hp. It has a nice low grunt. I never feel wanting for power

On the highway. Also fantastic. It's a bit windy. The riding position and no proper fairing doesn't help. I added a small wind screen and it eases it a lot actually. And the bike just swallows miles. Like I said, I've done multiple 600 mile trips. I do eventually want to get more comfortable diamond tuck seat. I don't find the stock seat uncomfortable. I have the full length seat setup on mine. I like that I can move around so much. Keeps you more comfortable on long rides and I find myself averaging around 45-50mpg on the highway. I'm sure I could get better if I wanted to as well.

There have been some mishaps that were my fault. I had a small fire on the bike. I had some canvas saddle bags I thought were clear of the exhaust. On a long ride and over loaded, the rested on the exhaust and thankfully I Noticed before it got bad. I lost a tablet, some gloves and other minor things. But thankfully Valarie survived.

I had a strap snap and then wind around the axel. The only damage to the bike is as it wound is broke my turn signal. I stopped immediately and thankfully that's all that happened. I'm not sure how the strap broke. But it was a deal. I've fixed the blinkers and all is well.

I made 2 50 cal ammo boxes for panniers. Really nice and gives me a sticker canvas. I have a guardian bell I have mounted next to the headlamp my wife got me.

This bike has me sold on the brand. I want more enfields in the stable

Help me choose one between the Black and Red cowl for my Rocker red gt650

Initially I thought of going with the red cowl with white stripes. But then I came across some pictures of the red gt650 with black single seat cowl, & damn the black cowl looks so neat with the black mudguard & overall frame of the bike. Now I'm confused which one to go for.
