Looking for housemates

Looking for 2 people that would be okay sharing a room with eachother. I have a house with 3 others, and have an extra 2 person room that needs to be filled. 1100 rent each, and you get your own bathroom! Everyone is super chill and clean, house is pretty big, just renovated, with yard and good street parking. Also, walking distance from campus! M/F doesn't matter, I am sharing a room with my gf, and the two solo rooms are male. We prefer college students or same age range. Move in any time (Aug latest), 12 month lease. Please reach out for any questions!

Rejected by Berkeley and Stanford, should I go to Santa Clara University?

I applied to universities in the Bay Area because my long-term goal is to live and work in San Francisco.

I was admitted to the MS in Engineering Management and Leadership at Santa Clara University, but as an international student I’m concerned about the ROI of the program, particularly given the current job market and sponsorship challenges as an international.

One of my main concerns is whether the degree and network would provide strong enough career opportunities both in the US and back in Europe if I decide to return.

For context, I have 4 years of experience in the aerospace sector, including technical lead and systems engineering roles on space projects.

LOST Dog, please CALL if you see him immediately, he's very skittish and the best thing to do is to call the number!!

Lost Dog

Do not chase, do not whistle, do not call out to him, he is VERY shy and skittish! He is a lost foster dog. Please call 408-677-6124 immediately if you see him with the location and time you saw him. You can call at any time, day or night.

He was originally lost in Sunnyvale but he is a very fast little guy and has been seen in Mountain View and Santa Clara. Yesterday evening he was seen in Santa Clara. Call at any time if you see him please!!! He is at risk of being hit by a car. He bolts, and needs to be confined safely. We have the tools to catch him, please don't try to catch him. People have tried and it makes him run before professional volunteers can get there and puts him at risk of being hit.

Help decide my fate please

Was on the waitlist for UCSC and Santa Clara University for Computer Science and got off the waitlist for both.

Honestly wanted a bigger party school like UCLA or UCSB but I cant be picky right now.

Is Santa Clara really a feeder and worth to take over the traditional college experience. What I mean is the alumni network really that strong that people go to Santa Clara?

Sunbathing near the chapel.

I visited SCU on Thursday and saw a bunch of people sunbathing right next to the chapel in swimwear. Not necessarily complaining but how often does this happen? I would have thought it would be inappropriate, never seen it at other schools.

SCU vs USFCA MA in Counseling Psychology for marriage and family therapy

I just accepted into SCU's masters in counseling psychology program and I am torn between here and USFCA. Some context, I am from San Francisco so my first choice was USFCA because I liked their program and the convenience of the location. I already paid the admission deposit before I got my acceptance letter from SCU. However, USFCA would cost around 80k while SCU's would cost around 70k. It's about an hour drive from my house to SCU too so that is a big downside for me considering how much closer USFCA is. But I also heard SCU's program has a high pass rate for the certification exam to become an LMFT. Does anyone have advice they can share from their own experience from either of these programs?

SCU vs SJSU

Hello All:

My kid has already committed to SJSU for business analytics but just got off the waitlist at SCU for the same major. Even with SCU’s scholarship, we are still looking to pay $32K more per year. While we can figure out how to fund that, I’m interested in getting any opinion on the ROI. Both schools are in the Bay Area (so presumably they have access to the same intern/job opportunities) and both majors are the same. Any insights into why one would be better than the other for Business Analytics? My kid does prefer smaller class sizes and thrives with access to good professors, so, maybe that tilts the scale to SCU? Any insights are welcome! We’ve been given 24hrs to decide by SCU! Thanks!

Transfer Admit Day

Hey, I'm considering going to the transfer admit day event on May 29th. Any of the other transfer students thinking of going?

And those of you who transferred last year and went, how many people were there?

I'm from LA so I don't know if I should attend if it's going to be like 4 people, but if it's like a big event, I think it would be worthwhile to attend, get to meet some people before the orientation date.

How hard is the quarter system?

I am incoming freshman, majoring in public health on the pre-med track. But I’m worried I might get cooked by the quarter system.

Support

I’m a prospective transfer at Santa Clara and I’m worried about the potential rigor that will be there since I’m transferring from a semester college. What kind of support is available for students who are struggling or need help?

Also, what’s the minimum number of classes to take per quarter and what’s the maximum?

SCU vs LMU

I am a current high school senior and I just got off the waitlist for santa clara university but I am already committed to LMU. I want to end up going to grad school and become a neurologist in the end. I also live in LA and have lived here my whole life so i have a know everything around LMU, SCU would be a whole new experience on that other hand but i heard it was a big party school and I am not big into parties or joining a sorority. If i go to LMU i would be majoring in Psychology, if i go to SCU i would be majoring in neuroscience. Which school do you think is better for my end outcome and to end up with a good 4 years in undergrad but also make it my future career plan?

Scu for finance or cc for Econ?

Scu would cost around 45k per year since I meet the requirements to not stay on campus.

Which would be better for a career and also general experience.

Looking for a room/sublet | June 1 – Aug 23

Hey everyone!

I'm interning in the Bay Area this summer and looking for a room or sublet from June 1st to August 23rd (12 weeks).

Any place around SCU would be really helpful!

**Areas I'm looking in:**

Palo Alto / Mountain View / Sunnyvale / Santa Clara / San Jose / Redwood City

**A bit about me:**

- Clean, quiet, and respectful

- Non-smoker

- No pets

- I treat the place like my own

Open to private rooms, shared housing, or sublets. If you have a lead or know someone subletting this summer, please drop a comment or DM me!

Thanks in advance 🙏
