I mean obviously we know the answer BUT

Someone on tiktok claimed Aang comforting/supporting Katara about her mother dying was equal to Katara helping Aang regulate out of the Avatar State.

And I HATE being wrong so I spent all day combing through videos and even full episodes so I could count it myself.

And the results are in!

Katara helps Aang out of the Avatar State: 2 out of 4.5 opportunities

Aang comforts Katara about her mother: 2 out of 7 opportunities

This means Katara helps Aang regulate out of the Avatar State 44% of the time she's available to...

While Aang only comforts her about her mother 29% of the time he's able to.

The commenter I was responding to was specific about these two example types, and also I didn't have enough time to rewatch the whole series and comb through every single time they support each other emotionally about anything.... but I'm stubborn so I'm sure I'll have that done sooner that I think 😅
