| 2009 | No Joseph/Halaina divorce case was found in the West Virginia records searched. |
| ~2009–2010 | Halaina continues to have California/Bay Area connections. |
| ~2010 — Haygen's birth | Haygen is born in California under her original given name. The exact birth date has not yet been established. Lynne Banks states that the family left California approximately two weeks after her birth. |
| ~2010–2011 | Haygen is living with Halaina Smith/Walsh and Colm Walsh. A dispute develops over her biological parentage and how Colm came to be listed as her father. |
| ~2010–2011 | Possible California → Texas move for Halaina and Colm. Exact date remains unknown. |
| Feb. 18, 2011 | A legal paternity test is conducted for Haygen and Colm. The report shows a 99.999% probability of paternity and a Combined Paternity Index of 77,520, stating that Colm cannot be excluded as her biological father. |
| 2011–2013 | Haygen's name reportedly changes from her original birth name to McKenzie, reportedly a name she remembers being called, and eventually to Ainsley. The exact dates and legal status of these changes have not yet been established. |
| Before May 2013 | Haygen is living in the Walsh household. Banks raises questions about her biological family in California and the circumstances surrounding her adoption. |
| June 2011 | Frank Smith, Halaina's father, dies. His obituary identifies Halaina as Halaina Walsh. |
| 2011 — Frank's memorial | The Legacy memorial/guestbook associated with Frank's obituary contains messages attributed to Halaina Smith-Walsh and Colm Walsh. Colm refers to Halaina and their daughter. This provides contemporary evidence that Halaina was using Smith-Walsh by 2011 and that Halaina and Colm had a daughter. |
| 2011 — “Mom” reference | In her memorial message for Frank, Halaina refers to “Mom.” Haleshia is established as Halaina's birth mother, although the memorial message itself does not explicitly identify who “Mom” refers to. |
| Sept. 23, 2011 — Facebook incident | A Facebook profile under Halaina Walsh published a deliberately false claim that Halaina and her daughter had died in a car accident. Who actually made the post is unknown. Suspected to have been Colm. |

| May 20, 2013 | Lynne Banks publishes “Halaina Smith/Halaina Walsh/Surrogacy,” beginning a lengthy series of allegations concerning Haygen, Halaina, Colm, and a separate surrogacy situation. Banks alleges that Haygen's biological parents were in California and raises questions about her birth certificate, parentage, and adoption. These are blog allegations, not established facts. |
| June 25, 2013 | Banks updates the post, acknowledging that a step-parent adoption did occur, while continuing to argue that the circumstances surrounding it were improper. |
| Early/Mid-2013 | According to Banks' account, Halaina and Colm become involved with a young woman who agrees to serve as a traditional surrogate. The surrogate becomes pregnant with twin boys. Banks alleges that Halaina represented herself as pregnant and that family and friends were led to believe she was carrying the babies. |
| 2013 — Twins born | According to the blog, the surrogate gives birth to twin boys and chooses to parent them herself rather than surrender them to Halaina and Colm. The birth and custody circumstances require independent documentation. |
| 2013 — After twins' birth | According to the blog/comments, Colm apparently seeks custody of the twins but ultimately drops the case. The blog gives competing explanations for why, so the precise legal circumstances remain unresolved. |
| July 2013 | Another woman reportedly comes forward after nearly becoming an egg donor/surrogate for Halaina and Colm. She ultimately backs out after becoming concerned about the arrangement. Blog allegation; unverified. |
| Aug. 2, 2013 | Banks alleges that Halaina circulated a paternity test concerning Haygen that was fake or misleading. This claim conflicts with the separate Feb. 18, 2011 legal paternity report, which shows a 99.999% probability of Colm's paternity. |
| Aug. 2013 | The blog's comments contain conflicting accounts concerning the twins, including claims about whether Halaina and Colm said the babies had died versus mourning their loss after losing custody. This remains disputed and should not be treated as established fact. |
