Sprout!!
This is my first time growing. Pineapple Kush cake auto. It took 4 days to sprout. I’m super excited for this process
Alien OG - Week 3 flower
Casually growing this and she stretched into the lights! Hence some burnt leaf tips. She’s all good now
I have no idea where to start
Planted a random seed in my sage and it actually started growing. I feel like it's way too hot and sunny where it is, but know absolutely nothing about making an indoor set up. Help please! Edit: I guess my main question is, would buying a set up be worthwhile vs making my own?
First full space bucket harvest, lessons from a 5 gallon grow
Finished drying my first space bucket grow over the weekend and I want to share what I actually learned, because most of the space bucket posts I see are setup pics and not many are real harvest debriefs.
5 gallon bucket stacked with a collar, 2 inch net cup, coco perlite mix, single Samsung LM301 COB at 60 watts, small 80mm PC fan for intake, no exhaust fan just passive vents cut into the collar. Strain was Northern Lights auto because it seemed forgiving. 82 days seed to chop. Final dry weight 34 grams.
What worked, LST from day 10. I was aggressive bending side branches out and down and the bucket lid became a nice horizontal plate instead of a single cola. The undersides filled in way better than I expected.
What did not work, I underestimated humidity. Bucket grows trap moisture around the base and I had slight powdery mildew on 2 lower fan leaves around week 4. I caught it, removed the leaves, and added a little silica to my feed, which toughened up the rest of the plant for the remaining weeks.
If you are thinking about trying a bucket grow, do not overlight it. 60 watts was plenty for this space and I got zero bleaching. More lumens would have just cooked her.
Happy with the results and doing another run starting Friday with a photo period this time just to see what I can do. Anyone running buckets want to trade notes on intake fan placement?
Still learning, but proud of this one. What do you think?
Rate my monstrosity
Day 16 of flower. Lights are 2x PAR38 flood lights. Ventilation is 1 computer fan and a passive intake, with the option to add another fan later if I need to
I was trying a mainline but I accidentally snapped off half of her early on, so I had to improvise. Do you think I need to defoliate a bit? Any tips?
FIRST GROW, FIRST SPACE BUCKET (WIP)
Hi everyone :)
I’m about to drop a Cream Orange Auto seed into the dirt, but I’m hitting a mental wall regarding odor control before I officially start.
I’m in a 20sqm studio apartment (top floor) in Milan, and the bucket is sitting just 1.5m away from my front door.
The Build Specs:
Enclosure: 2x 52L White Bins (stacked) | Total Height: ~80cm | Diameter: ~35-40cm.
Lighting: 4x LED Bulbs (E27) - Total 52W. (2x 2700K + 2x 4000K).
Exhaust: 8W Bathroom Axial Fan (Rated ~70 m3/h) mounted on top.
Intake: 3W USB fan.
My idea for the pot: 7L Pot | Bottom layer: Expanded Clay (2cm) | Mid layer: Super Soil (Organic concentrated) | Top layer: Light Mix.
Monitoring: Digital Thermo-hygrometer with probe.
Location & Climate:
I’m in Milan. Right now it’s about 20°C, but in a month this top-floor studio could hit 30-35°C easily. I run AC, but I need to balance temps vs. smell. The bucket is in a nook 1.5m from the main entrance. I don’t care if my 20sqm studio smells like a forest, but I cannot have the smell leaking into the hallway. If it smells 1m outside my door, fine. If it hits 2m+, I’m in trouble with the neighbors.
Carbon Filter Dilemma:
I have 4mm Activated Carbon Pellets, aluminum ducting, and a few flanges.
Problem: My exhaust fan is only 8W (~70 m3/h). We all know Reddit says DIY filters fail because of static pressure.
Question: Is there any DIY configuration (radial, thin-bed, oversized diameter) that can actually scrub the smell without choking this 8W fan and frying my plant this summer? Or am I dreaming?
Plan B: Should I just give up on DIY and buy a 4-inch Inline Fan (like a 200/300 m3/h) even if it's overkill/loud for a 20sqm room? I would rather avoid .
I haven't planted the seed yet. I’m waiting for your expert confirmation on the filter and the 7L pot setup.
Is the DIY filter a suicide mission for my temps/security, or can it be done?
Hi everyone! :)
I just picked up this aerator and trash can for my first build. I’m planning to pair them with two 13W 2700k LEDs and two 13W 4000k LEDs. What do you guys think? Am I on the right track?
