Comment your security experience(s)
I think it’s important Goldenvoice knows the types of people they had representing their festival and their treatment of guests. Because what even was that…
I understand and appreciate the need for security.
I’ve been coming to splash for the last at least 5 yrs and I only come back because of the genuine great time I have and overall experience that is unique to splash house.
However, I’ve never experienced a festival security experience anything quite like these past 2 weekends.
Walking up to the renaissance, I felt like a criminal even though I knew my wristband was fine. The guards were on an entirely different level.
3+ of them standing there was pretty intimidating and they were so ready to fight with anyone who questioned their authority.
The cops were chillin, they were there to actually make sure we’re safe….the security guards seemed like their only goal was to terrorize us lol.
I’ve legit never seen such unprofessional and just genuine disrespect towards guests. It’s been such a scandal because it was legitimately that bad.
Also what was up with the security guards going room to room looking to make sure everyone is still wearing the wristbands? Doing wayyyy too much
And what’s up with them entering our room (with a hotel master key card) thinking it was empty then claiming they thought they smelled smoke so they had to come in. Super sus.
What a shame. I’m curious what other interactions everyone had or what you saw/heard. Hopefully they really learn something from this and fingers crossed next year is better. I hope everyone made it home safe and the blues aren’t too bad. Happy splash 🙏🏻
