Comment your security experience(s)

I think it’s important Goldenvoice knows the types of people they had representing their festival and their treatment of guests. Because what even was that…

I understand and appreciate the need for security.
I’ve been coming to splash for the last at least 5 yrs and I only come back because of the genuine great time I have and overall experience that is unique to splash house.

However, I’ve never experienced a festival security experience anything quite like these past 2 weekends.

Walking up to the renaissance, I felt like a criminal even though I knew my wristband was fine. The guards were on an entirely different level.
3+ of them standing there was pretty intimidating and they were so ready to fight with anyone who questioned their authority.
The cops were chillin, they were there to actually make sure we’re safe….the security guards seemed like their only goal was to terrorize us lol.

I’ve legit never seen such unprofessional and just genuine disrespect towards guests. It’s been such a scandal because it was legitimately that bad.

Also what was up with the security guards going room to room looking to make sure everyone is still wearing the wristbands? Doing wayyyy too much

And what’s up with them entering our room (with a hotel master key card) thinking it was empty then claiming they thought they smelled smoke so they had to come in. Super sus.

What a shame. I’m curious what other interactions everyone had or what you saw/heard. Hopefully they really learn something from this and fingers crossed next year is better. I hope everyone made it home safe and the blues aren’t too bad. Happy splash 🙏🏻

Saguaro patio room

We stayed in one of the patio rooms at Saguaro this weekend and had a pretty scary situation happen. We left our room for literally maybe 20 minutes and when we came back, our door/lock was completely destroyed. The batteries from the lock were knocked off and all over the floor inside our room, and the whole lock mechanism was basically disassembled. It genuinely looked like someone had been body slamming or trying to force their way through our door.

What made it even weirder was that earlier we had gone upstairs to hang out with our neighbors and two random guys followed us into their room. Within like 10 minutes, someone’s phone went missing and the two guys were suddenly gone. We obviously can’t say for sure that the two situations were connected, but between that and coming back to our door looking like this, it definitely freaked our whole group out.

The door situation ended up being like an hour-long ordeal. We called the front desk and went down there multiple times because they kept trying to issue us new keys, but nothing worked. Eventually they came up with a master key and realized the actual lock itself had been compromised. Engineering came out and everything was fixed by the next day, and the hotel did take care of us, which we appreciated.

It just sucked because after that we were SO on edge. We stopped going into other people’s rooms and weren’t comfortable letting anyone we didn’t know into ours. Definitely put a weird feeling over the rest of the weekend.

Did anything like this happen to anyone else staying at Saguaro?

SPLASH HOUSE W2 THOUGHTS

I was scared for this Splash especially hearing bad reviews about W1. I had a room at the Ren and we were able to get all of our friends in by just slipping off the wristbands and giving them to friends outside and just doing that all night. Had no issues with security and this splash was as good as all the others. I'm curious about other people thoughts knowing what they were coming into for W2?

MY FIRST SPLASH HOUSE “SOLO”

This was one of the most amazing experience I’ve ever done. I love the vibe, the energy and I love the after, and I loved the after after.😂😂. Flew all the way from Jersey and I think I was the only one from the East Coast :) Next year I will definitely be doing back to back both weekends!! HAPPY SPLASH EVERYONE !

I miss you all already :/

I’m still not mentally back to reality. Part of me is convinced I should still be at the hotel, room hopping with all you beautiful degenerates, meeting random people, hearing techno from every direction and wondering where the hell we’re going next.

Splash House went by WAY too fast. I miss you all. Until next time…

I was at Ren 4th floor wknd 2 btw!

Hilton worker tore my bag

Just curious if anyone else had a bad experience with bag search at Hilton? I walked in with a full bag and they took forever searching every inch, so later when I came back I brought much fewer things in my back.

The security worker aggressively searched my bag, pulling hard at the pockets and lining, and pulled so hard she ripped the lining from the outside of the bag. I was kind of just shocked and couldn’t believe it happened and then was rushed along. It made me not want to return to Hilton for the rest of the day despite wanting to see some of the later sets there, as I felt maybe another worker would tear the bag even more.

Just wondering if anyone had similar bag search experiences because that was ridiculous and really upsetting. I’ve been to Splash for 5 years now and have never had a more negative experience with security.

Something positive

Me and my whole crew had the time of our lives. Brought some first timers. Met dope new people every time I turned around. It sucks that some people had run ins with shitty security and people but our experience was amazing.

Missed connection - hot young and NICE security working the pool entrance at Renn yesterday

Maybe this is a stretch but I saw a super cute younger dude working the pool entrance at Renaissance yesterday.

The first time I went through, we smiled at each other and I asked him if he’s a local. He said “yes” in a way that made me feel like he thought I was hot (female).

The second time I went through, he remembered me (“you again!”) and gave me what I interpreted as a flirtatious smile.

I am also a local and would be down to hang out.

There will be a handsome reward for anyone who can provide some identifying information. And by “reward” I mean a high-five.

Security at the Hilton remembered us from last year

Security should be making sure we’re safe and not fighting… the amount of people I saw pulled out of the pool and had their wristbands cut was absolutely absurd. So many times I saw them pull and search people just for them not to have anything on them. A girl hitting her vape got accused of doing poppers or bumps and she was literally just chilling. Little dick bitches on a power trip

The Renn Needs to GO.

I am a Splash Alumni and DJ who has played here so I do not say this lightly but this is the last year I can fuck w the Renn.

The security there is so horrible actually ripping wristbands off of people and physically pushing people off property and making people stay locked down in their rooms.

I’ve never seen so many terrified festival goers and never been treated that way. The security there is UNSAFE and totally against everything that has made Splash House so special in previous years.

For context, I have a Renn wristband and my name is actually on the room.

What has your experience been like this year at the Renaissance?

ROOM ROBBED AT HILTON DURING AFTERS

We went to Kaskade afters and got back an hour ago to find out our friends’ room was scrubbed clean. Everything is gone… clothes, designer sunglasses, everything. They’ve lost at least 5k worth of items. Make sure you check your rooms and your stuff. Kinda wild that they have all these securities and this still happened!!

Does anybody know what this is about?

Just saw this comment on Instagram: I'm wondering if you will be covering the medical bills for the nine GA attendees who were injured by glass bottles you provided VIP guest, especially since your own website states that glass is prohibited.

Did this actually happen?

So what’s been the W2 hotel situation?

Are they actually honoring the 10pm cutoff rule they stated?

I am asking because for W1, this same rule was on IG and on the signage at the hotel, but the security staff were not honoring it and were requiring hotel wristbands earlier in the day (at literally 2pm on Sunday).

After 7 or 8 years of attending Splash, this W1 was potentially irredeemable for us either way, but if there’s any chance of us returning, we would need to hear that they at least course-corrected for W2.

Haven’t seen as many complaints here or in the IG comments so maybe they did fix the issue? However I’m also seeing some potential signs that they could be deleting (not hiding) IG comments. So not sure what to think.

Ren hotel wristband

Definitely do NOT cut and tape back, only slip off and slip on. Security was trying to pull on the wristband to see if it would come off, saw them cussing out a poor girl last night when her wristband broke
With that being said, does anyone have an extra wristband they can slip off? We just need one more for our group 😭🙏 please dm me!

Just had my therapy appointment

Of course it came up that I had gone to splash house (W1) since my last appointment. I did not intend to go into the particulars around the >hotel situation< as this is of course not profoundly relevant to my mental health.

Turns out she already knew about the hotel situation because TWO other clients were complaining about it!!!!

Word spreads like wildfire I guess. Would never have expected this scandal to make it to my therapist lol

Good luck W2, I hope they fix all the problems and you have a beautiful weekend ❤️
