Is Arena Royale dead??
First time player of this Splitgate. Used to play the original a ton. Tried to find a match for like 20 mins then gave up

Like I get why these skins were at launch since it makes sense realistically. But without water combat, the skins do kinda just feel for fun. Which is fine, since I always used the navy skins in BF4 even on non water combat maps.

Hear me out: EMPULSE is out, but it's a premium title that requires an active PS Plus subscription to play online on console.
Meanwhile, Splitgate is sitting right here, it's F2P, and it doesn't need a subscription.
I’m starting to wonder if we’re about to see a "rebound effect." With subscription costs only going up, do you think casual players who are looking for a fresh arena shooter are going to stick with the free, accessible alternative rather than paying a monthly fee just to play EMPULSE?
Personally, I feel like Splitgate’s accessibility is our biggest advantage right now. Are you guys seeing an influx of players, or do you think the "double paywall" (buying the game + PS Plus) of other titles is actually going to help keep our player count healthy?
Let's talk about it, do you think the current model is Splitgate's secret weapon?
Map Name: Halls of Torment
Creator: ICEsmoke
Description: Quick paced game play, triple portals, flank routes and plenty of portal kill possibility's... even trap your adversary into a furnace and watch him cook
Enjoy.

Yeah yeah, I know, "this isn't an airport, you don't have to announce your departure". I just think it can sometimes be important to voice when you've stopped supporting something, especially with a company as small as this one
80% of the posts in here are complaining / hating, rightfully so but still
Splitgate has more or less been abandoned and it's turned from "we have a small team working on Empulse and our focus is Splitgate" to "we have a small team working on Splitgate and our focus is Empulse"
This company doesn't know how to make a good decision to save their lives (or their company lmao)
Leaving this subreddit, uninstalling the dead game, leaving the Discord server. I just don't care anymore. They have successfully neglected and abandoned one of my all-time favorite games... twice
Can't wait for the announcement that 1047 is shutting down or being sold
Hey guys! I just wanted to know if in the case that SG-AR is shut down (sooner or later) that it could be open-sourced into the public? I would also be open for SG1 to have the same in addition. I think a justifiable reason for this is to continue the legacy of Splitgate after it's death, in the form of community mods, servers and etc. Assuming the game is already dead when this is considered, no more purchases can be made anyways so this likely wouldn't affect the sales of newer games in coming time. If the community makes changes you would approve of, you could consider this for later games in addition. Thanks for making these awesome games, and this would really restore my trust in the franchise.
I keep seeing a lot of talk about low player count and what not, but just wanted to add that I usually find myself playing with those on consoles. Usually it's just me and perhaps one or two other PC players and the majority are console players.
Just wanted to bring this to attention because for whatever reason, looking at Steam playercounts has become a thing on its own. I can't remember a match where PC players outnumbered console players, and unless I run into stacked teams, the majority are console players.
I think it's time for me to move on from this game.
I genuinely loved my time with it and got way more hours and enjoyment out of it than I expected when I first picked it up. Unfortunately, over the last few months I've slowly lost interest and don't really see myself sticking around much longer.
This isn't meant to be a hate post or an attack on the game or the people still enjoying it. Sometimes a game just stops clicking for you, and I think that's where I'm at.
To everyone still playing, I hope you continue having fun with it and that the game keeps improving for the people who love it.
For me though, I think this is where I step away. Thanks for the good times everyone. ✌️
"We do have part of the team still working on it (Splitgate), but you know it's just a matter of resources and focus. The majority right now is focused on Empulse. That's the priority of the studio. But we're not planning on shutting anything down and we do plan continuing to support it (Splitgate)"
In 4 days season 2 is ending. This community is clearly getting the vibe that we are being left to dry. Is season 3 coming out, and is giving suggestions and feedback on splitgate even productive with all development seemingly going to empulse?
We know that we are getting less development, but we also have no idea what that will actually mean. Do the devs already know? Or is it still up for grabs while empulse is hot right now, and season 3 will have to be on the waiting list for now?
1047 Games continues selling lies to its community. I was banned from the Empulse subreddit for suggesting that Empulse's guns, UI and animations look a lot like SG2. Now they are removing even more comments talking about how much of a scam their game is while SG2 continues to get zero support past season 2. At what point do people give up on this company?
Since y'all quietly changed the Season 2 expiration date (previously ended in 4 days), does that mean we're actually getting a third season?
The first double kill barely missed connecting with the next 4 kills. This is an amazing spot to stand and pick people off on this map while the AI are hyper focused on the hills in Domination lol
I was hoping for Season 3 next week, but Empulse is still the focus right now, I guess.
Can I block people?
I don't want my match ending in 3 minutes.
Half the time they're on my team, but I can't stand playing a game with one guy getting 30+ kills while everyone else is at 10-15 and making the match end quicker than my search takes.
I'm having fun and don't care about a loss or not, but half the matches have one dude on either side making the match over multiple minutes before it could.
I'm not here to rag on 1047, but this is gonna be a post full of hopefully constructive criticism. I've been thinking about this a lot recently with the announcement of Empulse and I think I have a pretty good grasp on the really only 2 mistakes they're making with their games.
For starters, I'd argue that games/franchises that are generally considered good/great or are at least popular have unique identities. In the shooter space - Titanfall is/was a completely new experience, CS when it came out, CoD during the Xbox 360 era where it gained all of its popularity, Halo, Unreal, Battlefield, Destiny, etc. 1047 games haven't been unique - Splitgate is Halo with portals and was marketed as such, Empulse is Titanfall 2 but oddly with less ability for player expression (the other issue they have). I think for a game to succeed in this space, it needs to define itself and not be defined by other games.
Second is player expression. What hero shooters and Titanfall 2 succeed in is offering a lot of different options for how to approach the game (not that I want to see them make a hero shooter). Titanfall 2 isn't just a grapple game (even though thats how I play it). All the different class abilities change how you move through (or don't move in the case of a-wall) the environment. Not only does the multitude of abilities allow you to play differently, it makes interactions/gunfights much more unique. Fighting against a grappler is entirely different that stim, phase, cloak, a-wall, you get the point. 1047 keeps making games that are completely one note. There is only one playstyle in each game and deviating from it will get you punished. My biggest complaint with Splitgate 2 was that movement could never compete with portals which is why I always argued for cooldowns. The same will be the case in Empulse, its just a grapple shooter, where it needs to take more cues from Titanfall 2 and give players a choice of movement abilities - and by that I don't mean just add portals, there needs to be a multitude of choices.
In summation, delay Empulse! Like a while. Add portals (on cooldown like grapple) and even more movement abilities, remove titans, and come up with creative game modes that emphasize movement - a big complaint I have with TF2 is modes like Hardpoint with stationary objectives. And personally I'd say lean back into Splitgate 2's artstyle - the athlete sort of aesthetic would help emphasize the movement shooter nature of it.
