Is this the Underwood Farms Sriracha that many say it just the old Huy Fong?

Is this the Underwood Farms Sriracha that many say it just the old Huy Fong?

I believe this is the one people recommend but I don't really get it. This one tastes nothing like the old Huy Fong, or even the new one for that matter.

It's really sweet and has a very smooth texture unlike the little bits and bops that are in the Huy Fong stuff.

Maybe I have the wrong flavor or the wrong Underwoods?

Anyway I'll still eat it but I don't plan to re buy.

Found an OG bottle of Huy Fong. Comparison and Taste Test

Was cleaning out my pantry and found on the back corner an unopened bottle of OG Huy Fong (best before Dec 2024)

Next to a new bottle, it's obviously much darker and also more viscous. The new Huy Fong is a lighter more orange red, and the sauce is thinner.

Makes sense when looking at the ingredients, used to be a higher concentration of chillies (83% vs 81%). Looks like xanthan gum is also replaced with metabisulfite.

Taste test: brought me back to why I originally fell in love with the sauce. It was so much richer and complex, and a little bit hotter too. The new sauce pales in comparison, like a facsimile of what it used to be.

Will be treasuring this bottle, as we couldn't get Underwood Ranch here in Australia

So what Sriracha are we using now that Underwood is done other than Huy Fong?

I have Huy Fong but it doesnt have the heat it used to have. Any others people liked?

Which one do you prefer of these two?

I've never tried them. I ended up buying the smaller one (crying thaiger). I'm not sure if I made the best choice..

In the UK, which Sriracha would you go for?

Nang fah (Tue Kung) – Sriracha hot chilli sauce 450ml

Crying Thaiger Brand Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce 440ml

Suree – Sriracha chilli sauce extra hot 435ml

Flying Goose - Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce 455ml

I can't find Underwood without paying above the odds for it, ditto Huy Fong. Flying Goose is everywhere.

Local Thai supermarket carries a few less well known brands.

Any recommendations?

I hit the jackpot!

I just happened to be walking by and saw 17oz Huy Fong sriracha for $0.99 each. I’m pretty sure it was a pricing error, but I’m certainly not complaining.

As a perk, each bottle added 3 cents to my fuel perks, so it’s like I paid $0.70 for each bottle if I get 10 gallons of gas.
