Woman who owns the sun
Spanish citizen María Ángeles Durán notarized a document declaring herself the owner of the Sun, claiming she had found a loophole in international space law.
She threatened to charge people for using solar energy and pledged to direct the proceeds toward public welfare. Her claim had no legal standing because international treaties prohibit the appropriation of celestial bodies, and eBay later banned her attempts to sell plots of the Sun.
