Who are you supporting now?
I’m an American visit Scotland as we speak- going to the pub for the England match has me wondering;
Who is the Tartan Army supporting now that Scotland is out? USA? England?

Quick recap if you missed it: during the World Cup, the Tartan Army put traffic cones on a bunch of Boston statues. Bobby Orr, Paul Revere, even the mayor got in on it. Glasgow returned the favor with a custom "BOSTON" cone on the actual Duke of Wellington statue. Zander Murray climbed up there and placed it himself. Five million views. A literal sister-city agreement got signed because of a traffic cone.
They didn't just steal Boston's heart. They stole the whole country's. That's the kind of romance I want my scarecrow to represent.
I can't compete with that story, but I'd like to be part of it.
I'm building a scarecrow for the Minnesota State Fair (biggest state fair in the US, a couple million people walk past it) in honor of the Tartan Army. It needs a cone on its head. After the last two weeks, this feels less like a want and more like a historical obligation.
The ask: I need a cone in Minnesota by August 7th. Ideally the actual Boston one. Realistically, any one with proper provenance.
If you know Andrew Dobbie, Mark Thorburn, or Zander Murray, tag them. If you're flying from Glasgow to anywhere in the US before then and have room for one traffic cone, I will make you internet famous in a Facebook group of Minnesota state fair enthusiasts. That's a real honor, I promise.
Here's the deal: get it from Glasgow. If nobody steals it, I'll figure out how to get one to Boston myself.
Minnesota will love it, and whether it gets stolen along the way or not, we'll get it there. After the fair, it goes straight home to Boston. It belongs there.
Worst case, I paint my own and tell people it's the real one. Best case, Glasgow and Minnesota are basically twinned now too and nobody can stop us.
Who's in?
We lost our flag at south beach in miami, around finnegans bar - its the blue one with souness and hansen on it, it is quite sentimental so if you find it drop me a line 🫡
I feel like Euro 28, if we qualify (which we should given the host safety net), will be the last big tournament for a few of these players. And possibly Clarke too depending on how it goes.
I'm just hoping we can crack this formula if being utterly dross at the big tournaments. I think it's partly mental tbh.
If we cannot give an account of ourselves on our own soil, then I don't see a time we ever will unless we go full on Belgium youth development.
Thanks for coming down! We hope you had fun. We enjoyed your staying with us and hope you visit again!
Scotland may be in a difficult situation right now. I saw a article that many of you are unsure where to go. Come back to Boston and we can party over our dislike of England. 🍻
Beer deliveries have been spotted all morning in South Beach. This guy unloaded over 30 kegs.
My respect to the way you guys party! Singing, dancing and of course drinking. You brought the fun to South Beach.
If any of you venture to the birthplace of Mardi Gras, please let me know?
We have a good entertainment district and I’d love the opportunity to meet some if you!
Just a friendly American here wanting to party with the Tartan Army, hear some bagpipes, drink some beer…. so I came to see if you guys planned on visiting here? 🇺🇸 🤝 🏴
Unfortunately I was out of town the last two weeks and missed the beloved Tartan Army, though I loved seeing online all the joy that they brought to our city for the World Cup. I know a lot or most of them went down to Miami and are there now. I'm wondering if we have any Scots that are still in town this week?
I'm a Red Sox season ticket holder & thought it'd be fun to bring a couple Scots to the Yankees game with us this week, if there's any left 😂
Feel free to PM me, cheers
