Tatsuro Yamashita’s live album “JOY 2” is finally complete and will be released on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

This will be Tatsuro Yamashita’s third live album, following IT’S A POPPIN’ TIME, released in 1978, and JOY, released in 1989. Remarkably, it has been 37 years since the release of the previous album, “JOY,” making this a truly long-awaited live album for fans.

As for the tracklist, Yamashita himself carefully selected the best-of-the-best performances from more than 600 shows across 13 nationwide tours held over an 18-year period, from 2008 through 2025.

The album will feature 38 tracks across three discs, making it a substantial collection of live performances.

The first pressing edition will also include a fourth disc featuring six live recordings that were previously released as bonus tracks on various singles, now given new mixes.

In addition, the fourth disc includes three edited versions of the “LET’S DANCE BABY” medley sections from the 2010, 2012, and 2014 tours. These versions contain only the medley portions that have become a familiar part of Yamashita’s live performances.

The first pressing will therefore be released as a deluxe four-CD set.
