Will OEMs tune it well, or will we get midrange phones with hot cores and average battery life?

Mediatek Dimensity 9500s delivers flagship-level performance while staying cooler and more power-efficient in everyday use. It handles gaming with steady frame rates and avoids the high thermal throttling. Mediatek’s NPU and imaging improvements work well for common AI and camera tasks.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is present in many phones and competes at the high end with on paper specs, but real-world experience is disappointing with heating issues even after paying high prices. Phones with the Dimensity 9500s often offer better value, giving flagship features at lower prices.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is overhyped. It's basically a downclocked 7s Gen 3 with worse single-core performance than the cheaper 6s Gen 4. Mid-range phones with this chip cost more but don't feel faster for daily tasks. Plus, it already has high-severity security bugs. Skip it.
The Mediatek Dimensity 9500s has Mediatek’s NPU 990 chip, which doubles AI compute power. It can generate 4K images, run 3B parameter language models 100% faster, and process long text.
The main thing is that it cuts power use by 33–56% during AI tasks. If you care about on-device AI, this chipset punches above its weight.
Any Thoughts?
Everyone’s talking about Snapdragon and Apple, but the Mediatek Dimensity 9500s is quietly impressive. It has an all big-core CPU with no efficiency cores, which means raw power without compromise. For the price, it’s hard to beat.
This is my personal opinion as i have used the poco x8 pro max and I was really surprised with such a smooth performance at an affordable price range.
