Seven days to go until my Kickstarter launch! Who else is going crazy prepping?

Thank you to the community for helping me me share my first ever game Bananarchy! As a small indie developer who initially had no intention of ever launching a game I can't believe it's only 7 days away from going live on Kickstarter! It feels surreal!

The creator of this community was kind enough to invite me onto the podcast to be one of the inaugural episodes and I am really looking forward to seeing it come out. In the meantime, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far whether with advice, support, or with a simple follow and share. Your support means a lot to me!

Brassbound - the wargame you can play with the building bricks and time you have

Brassbound is a tabletop wargame you can play with the building bricks and models you already own.

The game is designed around two armies duking it out and supports both solo and team play. Most matches complete in under 30 minutes.

The Learn to Play scenario, Core Rulebook, and First Campaign are all free. You can buy the parts for two entire armies for less than the cost of buying a single unit from more popular franchises.

Brassbound is an alternate history story where in 1917, a science experiment gone wrong nearly leads to the end of the world. Nightmarish creatures known as the Jötunn invade the world and humans have to make titanic war machines called Brassbounders to fight them off. Humanity eventually triumphs, but at a cost. The world is now very different and humanity is split into rival factions. Brassbound: Adamantine Dawn takes place a generation later when tensions between those rivals reach a boiling point, following a second Jötunn invasion.

Brassbound is a fast paced skirmish game

There is nothing worse than showing up to play a game, only to realize you've lost before the first dice has been rolled. Brassbound isn't like that; the game plays quickly so you can fit several games into an afternoon. Players show off their armies, then take turns activating one unit at a time until all units have activated or passed, completing the round. The game plays over six rounds and then the winner is determined. If the game is getting lopsided, reach across the table to shake hands with your opponent and simply restart. You can get back to playing within minutes! The core rules are one page long and easy to learn. The complete rules are simple and clear, you don't need to spend your time reading back through appendices to understand how things work. Instead, you'll learn by playing the game:

All measurements in the game are based on the dimension of the basic plastic building brick. Three color-coded rulers make measuring distance and range a snap.

Line of Sight is simple, clean and unambiguous; if a line can be drawn between the center of the unit and the center of the target without hitting anything that would provide cover, then you have Line of Sight.

The stats are simple and clean, and there are no modifiers to add. Instead you simply add and remove dice from your pool.

Dice rolling is intentional. One roll to hit, one roll to wound. Combat resolution involves both players.

Tracking wounds is easy; a unit is at full readiness, wounded, or destroyed. That's it.

Unleash your creativity

This game is all about using what you have. Your bricks, your models, your ideas. Guidance is provided on creating the battlefield, but people have the most fun when they contrive their own setting. Step-by-step building instructions and parts lists make recreating the models in the rulebook a snap though you can also use the Unit Creator to devise your own custom units. Some keywords and characteristics are intentionally included, but not used, on the standard models to encourage you to make your own!

Much of the graphics, video, story and play testing was done by members of our community. We even have our first community-designed games in development!
