Astrid shared this idea with Salod, whom she trusted implicitly, but Salod chose to ignore her and did not support her. Astrid worked day and night until she achieved her cherished dream: a substance that, when injected, would turn you into an unstoppable force. After several months of effort, Astrid managed to create her precious virus, “Code Red,” named for its characteristic reddish color. Astrid knew she was compatible with it since she had researched it extensively, and besides, she had created it specifically so she could use it herself. Once Astrid injected herself with the virus, she felt a little dizzy, but after a few minutes she sensed that something had changed within her; she felt different...
Astrid decided not to create any more samples of it, since no one had supported her idea and, besides, she wanted to be the only one to possess the powers the virus had given her.
After a while, Astrid decided to leave her position as a scientist and join the High Command as a guard, since she possessed powers that practically no one else had; she was practically immortal... Even though they knew this, the high command ordered Salod to create an antiviral for Astrid, just in case she were to lose control—since she could easily wipe everyone out if she wanted to.
