New GM.

Hello everyone. I'm new to TMA RPG. I'll be starting a campaign for a couple friends soon and am just wondering if I should look out for anything in particular about the game? I'm not new to gaming but it's always good to pick other people's brains for advice.

The game will be set in New York City out of the public library basement for a base.

Damage Type Question

Hey folks! I've been studying the RPG guide for ages now (have yet to run a game) and I'm still a bit confused about the damage type inclusion (bashing, bladed, ranged, etc.). I'm familiar with its equivalent from DnD but it doesn't really feel like it fits that well with the rest of the weapon typing/break-up. To me, it feels like getting bogged down in the details and most monster stats don't have any of those categories as a weakness or resistance the way they do in DnD. I was thinking about leaving out the bashing/bladed/ranged thing altogether and let my players pick a different skill if that one ever came up. But I was curious if other GMs felt the same or if it does work well once you actually start playing.
