24/7 video rendering topaz

I am building a workstation for continuous, 24/7 video rendering. My absolute priority is GPU safety—I need an ATX 3.1 PSU that electronically detects if the native cable is perfectly seated via the sense pins (no adapters) and handles days of non-stop load with excellent internal cooling.
Between the top-tier ATX 3.1 power supplies on the market, which is the superior choice for real-time connection sensing, electrical safety, and absolute peace of mind given the system specs below?
System Specs:
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
Motherboard: MSI MEG Z890 ACE
GPU: NVIDIA 5000 Blackwell

Advice/idea for photo/video enhancement.

Hello guys,

I have trouble enhancing my security video. The video was made with a simple OEM wifi camera at night. The original video was lost, i only have a telephone screen recording i made for safety reasons.

There is a certain part of the video where the region of interest is in the edge of the pic and the camera went out of focus. This object is probably a police baton, but have to be sure about it. With small and fast movements.
I want to enhance, sharph that part.
Tried multiple things to achive it:
\\- different ai-s of topaz, frame interpolation, noise deduction. Topaz video and topaz photo as well for the extracted frames. Tried every available AI tool.
\\- capcut adjustments and ai help
\\- tried making image sequence from the “important” part of video and enhancing the pictures.
\\- tried addig diffenet type of point spread functions to try to reduce blurring and movement blurs. (made around 50 different types, different size with different movement direction)
\\- used fiji enhancement from contrast changing to DevonvolveLab2 with Richardson-Lucy format.
\\- tried z-stack with fiji, but there is not a single frame where the interested object is clear.
\\- tried enhancing with a quality enhance program using opencv and pythorc (called Restormer).

Tried using the above technologies one by one, later as a sequence, one after another. But nothing achived the desired quality, not even close. The interested part still remains blurred and out of focus, most of the cases it became smudgy like a painting.

What are your opinions about this? which technology should work 100%, and maybe i made a mistake with the settings, or the preprocessing.
Any suggestion how to proceed?

Thank you in advance!

RTX 5060 (8GB) vs RTX 3060 (12GB) for Topaz Video AI

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to decide between an RTX 5060 8GB and an RTX 3060 12GB for Topaz Video AI.

My typical workflow:

Most videos are around 1 minute long.

Usually 1080p → 4K upscaling.

Occasionally 4K → 8K.

Which GPU would you recommend for this workload?

Is the RTX 5060 faster overall despite having only 8GB of VRAM, or is the 12GB VRAM on the RTX 3060 more beneficial for Topaz Video AI?

I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who has used either of these GPUs with Topaz Video AI. Thanks!

FHD using Starlight - CPU (16)/GPU (40) idle (1.4%) on Mac Studio M4 Max

And clicking on "Settings" doesn't open a Settings window. 45-minute videos are taking 3 days each. Looking for some ideas.

Topaz Labs - Predatory Pricing at Its Worst

Topaz Labs is the worst of the worst in predatory pricing practices. Not only are app subscription costs up 100% year over year (for inference running locally on my computer), they didn't even give an option to renew at the previous rate. There was no auto-renew, no email to renew at the same rate, nothing. Just opened the app to suddenly find that I don't have a subscription, and Surprise! - the subscription is now double what I paid a year ago. Topaz is literally the worst of the worst, and I eagerly await the day when open-source AI will shutter their doors forever.

Dell G7 (GTX 1660 Ti) or Older PC with RTX 2060 for Topaz AI?

I'm trying to decide between buying a Dell G7 laptop with a GTX 1660 Ti or an older desktop PC with an RTX 2060, mainly for Topaz Video AI.

I mostly upscale/enhance NBA clips that are only around 20–40 seconds long, so I'm not rendering huge projects. I also edit in Premiere Pro and After Effects occasionally.

The thing making this hard is that I really like the portability of a laptop. I travel sometimes, do videography, and it'd be nice to bring my editing setup with me. On the other hand, I know the RTX 2060 supports Tensor cores and should perform better in Topaz.

I also have a pretty small budget, so if I go with the desktop, I'd have to factor in buying things like a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers/headphones, etc., which adds to the cost.

For my use case, do you think the extra performance of the RTX 2060 is worth giving up the portability of the Dell G7? Or would you just stick with the laptop?

Help me with topaz

So, I wanted to ask about how to post 60 fps Reels on Instagram. I know that Instagram doesn't support 60 fps and only supports 30 fps, but there are a lot of videos on there that look like they're 60 fps. Can Topaz actually do something about it?, or is there another way to do it?

How do I get rid of this noisy “spiky grass” look?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on this dark forest/swamp scene, and there’s one thing that keeps bugging me.

I’m generating the image in ChatGPT and then upscaling it in Topaz. The overall mood is pretty much what I want: dark, wet, dense, a bit oppressive. But after upscaling, a lot of the ground detail, especially the grass and moss, starts to look very sharp and needle-like.

It almost feels like the same tiny grass shapes or brush strokes are being repeated all over the image. Instead of looking like natural forest floor, it turns into this busy visual noise.

The foreground and swampy areas feel especially “scratchy,” if that makes sense. There are tons of small spiky details everywhere, and they make the image harder to read.

I’m not sure if this is coming from the original generation, from the Topaz upscale, from too much sharpening/contrast, or from the AI over-rendering every tiny bit of vegetation.

Has anyone dealt with this kind of issue before?

Topaz Video Starlight model question

When using Starlight precise or mini locally, do these models load only once and slow the first time, and processes subsequent batch videos faster or does it have to load model each job if same model is selected?

Lets say if I try to process 3 videos 1 min each 30 FPS, then I see job completion time is equal implying models are loaded every time or am I misinterpreting it?

When I use other open source diffusion models, its slow the first in ComfyUI but subsequent jobs are very fast.

Request/commission?

Hi, /r/topazlabs! First off, please delete this post if not allowed (I read the rules, and it doesn't SEEM to violate any of them?)

Anyway, I have a video that I would like upscaled and enhanced. It was shot on VHS and is in (I believe) pretty grainy 480p.

It's the only video I need upscaled, and I reeeeally don't want to purchase an entire subscription and tokens and whatever else, just for ONE video. Would anyone here be able to do it for me? I would be happy to compensate you for your time/tokens/etc.

More details can be provided via DM if anyone is interested.

Anyway, thank you all!
