oh! how i love being a woman

apart from all the torment i go through, i love being a woman. few clicks from last month!

  1. i went to a museum for the first time. haven’t gone out in so long and i decided to do this. i loved everything there, it was so calm. there was this small room that had a glass painted ceiling and i was in literal awe. the picture did no justice but still it was one of most beautiful thing ever.

  2. my flatmate’s boyfriend usually brings home cookies, cupcakes from his workplace. the day he brought home this, he texted me the previous night saying cupcakes waiting for you. i was so happy. it’s nothing big, they are usually there in the kitchen and anyone can have them but this felt awww.

  3. so i love going to parks and i took this picture. i posted it on reddit and someone commented wallpaper material. nanu chumma wallpaper vechu pathen, it looked cool. i sent that person a screenshot of this too. that person sent me a few cool pictures they’ve clicked. that was cute too.

  4. as i said, i love going to parks. that was the first day i had food at the park. i usually go alone and haven’t felt like i could eat there or smth like that but that day i had pasta at the park. it felt liberating for some reason. it felt like i have transcended to the next state of monk-ness and idgaf.

  5. this is a very funny one. my flatmate broke his charger cable and for a week we’ve been sharing my cable. so i usually leave it under his door at night and he reruns it back by sliding it under my door in the morning. i felt it funny and nice at the same time. idk if it’s cool but IT IS COOL TO ME.

  6. been skipping beer for so long and after a very long time i jolly ah had moonu beer. i did random stuff, i scribbled smth, listened to random songs, overall i had a good beer sesh after a longggg time.

  7. this is my version of somberi chicken. oru beer potu i was cooking this chicken, i was laughing the whole time for nothing. drunk cooking is maja. the chicken tasted damn good btw!!

i grew up romanising the smallest things in life and that has kept me alive and going for the longest time. i love being a woman for this reason. i romanticise life ❤️

Awestruck with this movie - Nooru saami - spoiler alert

Summarized the whole situation of most widow women in 30 seconds. I rewatched this scene how many times I just don't remember.

Context - Selvi (swastika) has decided to get remarried after months of persuasion by her son. The woman talking to her is her mother.

This reminds me of the concept of patriarchal bargaining where most of the time its a woman ( mother, mother-in-law, grandmothers or neighborhood aunties) who reinforce the patriarchal norms and yes it's still a reality

A wonderful and powerful social drama that was thoroughly entertaining!!!

Idhayam murali effect uh irukumo?!??

Throwaway because few of my closest friends know my main Reddit account and I don’t want them finding this (yet).

I met this guy almost 6 years ago when my best friend and I were interning in Hyderabad. He was my friend’s boyfriend’s school friend and we all used to hang out. Nothing ever happened between us. We followed each other on Instagram and that was it.

The 3of them settled in Bangalore. I moved back to Chennai and earlier this year he approached me for a project. We started talking and meeting again but only professionally.

Last weekend, we had a reunion with my friend, her boyfriend and him like the old times. He suddenly confessed that he had a crush on me back then. Apparently he wanted to make a move but was too scared for rejection.

Later that night, he texted me saying he had been following my life through my socials ever since and wished he had done something about that crush and wished he had married me. He said I checked everything off his list and that he missed his chance.

I was honestly shocked, especially because he is married now.
I told him, “You’re married. How can you even say something like this?”
He just said that he married his athai ponnu because his father was sick and that he is not very happy with his marriage.(he has no wedding photos posted on in IG). I left him on seen

I haven’t encouraged him at all but I genuinely don’t know what to make of this. Is this just a harmless confession about the past or is it crossing a line? I want to tell this to my best friend but i for sure know she’ll share it with her boyfriend. I don’t want to create any sorts of drama within the group.
