For those who’ve had roommates, how was your experience?

For those of you who have had roommates, either on campus or off campus, how was your experience?
Would you live with roommates again, or would you prefer living alone? What were the biggest pros and cons of having roommates?
I’m considering getting roommates for the first time, so I’d love to hear about your experiences. Was it a good experience overall, and is there anything you wish you knew before living with roommates?
Would love to hear both the good and bad!

Mail deliveries and other deliveries

Hey does anyone know how to properly put in the address in say Amazon, to ensure that they deliver it to the right place? I just moved into Plaza on University and I’ve tried different things from different people but nothing seems to be working and my much needed items are not being delivered or are being delivered to the wrong spot

Any tried and true methods would be greatly appreciated

🔥 URGENT: Studio Sublease at The Verge — $150/mo OFF if you start today, move-in help included

I need to sublease my studio at The Verge (11841 Jefferson Commons Circle, Orlando, FL 32826) ASAP, lease runs 8/14/26 to 7/24/27.

Rent is $1,569/mo, and I'm motivated to move fast:

  • $100/month off if you take over the lease
  • $150/month off if you start the process today

A few details:

  • Fully furnished studio, 1 bath, in-unit washer/dryer
  • Pool, 24hr gym, study lounges, high-speed internet included
  • Pet-friendly
  • 0.2 mi from UCF's main campus with free shuttle access — good option even if you're not a student and just want something quiet with solid amenities

It's about 20–25 min to downtown Orlando depending on traffic, and shopping/errands are a quick drive rather than a walk.

To make the move even smoother, I'll personally help you move in and cover the sublease transferring fee with the leasing office too.

Trying to get this finalized really soon, so if you're interested or know someone who might be, feel free to comment or DM me. Happy to answer questions!

PSA for anyone considering renting rooms from a girl in Knights Landing

I’m posting this because our former roommate is currently advertising our rooms in Knights Landing on Facebook, and I wanted to give anyone considering moving in a heads-up based on our experience living with her. And please let people know if you know people also looking for rooms!
There are no hard feelings, and I’m not posting this to start drama or tell anyone what decision to make. I just wish we had known some of these things before moving in, so I figured it was worth sharing!
A few things to be aware of:
• Cleanliness: The biggest issue was the shared kitchen. Her dishes could sometimes be left sitting for a week or two, and the kitchen would get pretty dirty. We ended up having to clean shared areas ourselves fairly often.
• AC/temperature: She is very particular about the AC and prefers keeping the apartment considerably warmer than the rest of us. The AC became a frequent point of conflict, and disagreements about the temperature could turn into much bigger issues than they needed to be. If you’re someone who likes keeping your home cool, I would definitely discuss this before moving in.
• Rent: There have been issues in the past with rent not being paid on time. If you’re considering renting from/living with her, I would make sure you know exactly what your financial responsibility is, what the total rent is, and how everyone’s share is being handled. Get everything in writing rather than relying on verbal agreements.
• Communication: Communication about household issues could be difficult. Things that should have been relatively simple conversations sometimes became much bigger discussions, and getting things resolved could take a while.
I’m not saying she’s a terrible person or that nobody should ever live with her I’m sharing this because she’s currently looking for someone to move into the rooms, and I think prospective roommates deserve to know what our experience was like before committing
No hard feelings—just sharing our experience so someone else can make an informed decision.

Need help for Spring 2027!

Hey everyone! I'm transferring to UCF for Spring 2027 and I'm starting to look into housing, but I honestly have no idea where to start.

I'm transferring in with my AA, so this will be my first semester at UCF. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for apartments or places that are popular with transfer students. I'm looking for roommates, also dont know where to start with that, but I'd prefer to be close to campus, but I'm open to hearing about anything that's a good balance of price, safety, and quality, since i have a car so commuting wont be an issue. Also, how difficult is it to find housing for the spring semester? Is there usually decent availability, or should I start applying really early? Since I've never been to UCF before, I'm not really sure what the housing situation is like compared to other schools.

Any advice, recommendations, or things you wish you knew before transferring would be really appreciated. Thanks!
