MicroMACRO Convention Panic
Can anybody tell me a little more about the giant cardboard cutouts that were around the Hilton and the NEC the QR code never worked for me.

Can anybody tell me a little more about the giant cardboard cutouts that were around the Hilton and the NEC the QR code never worked for me.
Hi All.
This was my first time attending UKGE. I really enjoyed it Even though I don't play many board games. I only attended the Saturday. Next year I will definitely buying Saturday and Sunday tickets.
As I haven't got nothing to compare it. I was thinking what improvements have the organisers have implemented compare to last year? And what improvements/suggest you would like to see for next year.
My improvement/suggestion are.
Air conditioning.... Sometimes I found it really stuffy and hot and I was nowhere hear the exits to other halls, nor the entrance of the hall. I ask the security guard if I can pop out for a few minutes out the fire exit to catch my breath back as they were open. But they were only open to ukge volunteers and people who working at the stalls.
The pricing of food and drink was expensive in the halls.
So nearing the end of the Sunday a very nice chap approached my wife, our disabled son and myself and explained that he'd won the £1000 giveaway they ran this year.
He went on to say that he wasn't that much of a gamer and had come along with friends who were. Having already bought them games they wanted he was now going around asking random people if he could buy them games!
Think it's because its like a prepaid card only spendable on the day there.
He very kindly got us the mindbug/king of Tokyo expansion and a copy of Everdell!
Big thank you to you kindly stranger, hope you managed to find more folks to spend it on! Made our day!
51,196 unique attendees, 87,837 total people.
Saturday broke the NEC record for event attendance, the WiFi and air-con collapsed under the strain.
Went along to UKGE for the 3rd straight year and had a great time as always. Here what I picked up this year. If you attended, what was your highlight?
I brought a T-shirt, fell in love with it...then managed to burn it (don't even ask, I'm a clumsy oaf 🤣)
If anyone can help finding the name of the company I'd be so grateful
The t-shirt had Jason vorhees with a guitar on and it said "this next song is called bitch run but we all know she's going to trip"
The stall also sold hand towels etc
Please help my clumsy self find them so I can replace the t-shirt of my dreams of you can!!
My husband and I put in a load of games Thursday night and most have sold apart from 3. We have looked high and low for them twice. Once last night and once this morning and vannot find them anywhere.
Anyone know of anything not being logged as sold before?
Hi! I'm here today and I have an awful blister after rushing around for a few hours. Does anyone have any plasters with them? I will be around the Hilton lunch area for the next hour. I have blue hair and undercuts + wearing a shiny purple backpack and colourful skulls shirt :) I'd also be willing to meet whoever would give a plaster obviously. 💕
Alternatively, anywhere nearby I can buy some?
I didn’t go to UKGE today because there are engineering works between London and Birmingham International, which means I’ll miss it this year.
I could’ve left early and battled the Rail Replacement Bus but I figured the queues for the return bus back to Rugby would be horrific.
Wondering if this has made any visible difference to numbers in the halls today?
Hello All
First time I'm attending the UKGE tomorrow . I'm looking for game adventure books solo play. Stuff like Warlock of the Firetop Mountain I know Authors: Ian Livingstone will be attending. So I will be go to his talks.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a particular stand/vendors?
Getting prepped for the weekend.
Really hoping to see Old Kings Crown, not seen it in person before so would love to see the components/art everyone seems to love. Very much doubt I will be able to purchase it as I think it’s due for release in a few months?
Other than some Cosmic Encounter expansions I don’t know what to look out for? Bit out of the loop this year.
What are you looking forward to seeing?
Edit: I got a copy of Old Kings Crown!!
For the last couple of years the Paint and Take model was the ukge dragon. Is that the case this year as well? I had heard it might be a space marine instead. Just wanted to check if it was worth building in time for it as the dragon models were really great.
First ever visit to UKGE on Saturday and looking at the maps, feeling quite overwhelmed!
Coming with my 9 year old who loves pins so bought him the pin collective starter pack but how does this work? Do we have to trade or buy additional pins from other places?
Any recommendations of stalls not to miss? OH loves warhammer so will checking those!
Hiya, i’m heading to the expo alone and was planning on being in a small group but that didn’t pan out. Is anyone else alone who would like to partner up for the day?
to be clear that’s this friday.
I’m Moss, 19, they/them
I didn't know this, having queued for over an hour! Luckily a stranger in the station next to me overheard and gave me the funds!
He's my hero!
If you know Ben, keep him close, look after him, he's a good one!
I'm trying to book stuff in for Bring and Buy tomorrow, but OMG, 60+ second response times from the website is making life really difficult.
Same for buying tickets - it's just so slow.
Is it just me?
Hey! We are Taletech, a small indie game studio startup. We are interested in adapting board game into digital versions, and are currently working on a digital version of Crokinole. If you have any ideas as to which games we should approach, or have a game you are working on yourself, feel free to DM and we'll come say hi!
