hello to all past upcat takers who taked their upcat sa upd! may i ask like how hectic it will be kapag d-day na para hindi ako maoverwhelmed and alam ko kung ano ang mga situations na maeencounter ko.

Hi! I wanted to ask a few questions about the UPCAT since I'm currently reviewing and I'm honestly overthinking a lot

1. Was the Math subtest really mostly just foundations/basic concepts, or were there a lot of difficult questions too?
2. What were the most common Math topics that appeared?
3. Did you notice any topics that appeared more than once or were heavily tested?
4. Can context clues from the question help you solve some problems even if you forget the exact formula?
5. Were there many long word problems, or were most questions straightforward?
6. How difficult was the time pressure for Math?
7. And were the computations manageable mentally?
8. Were there trick questions, or were they mostly testing if you knew the concepts?
9. What formulas should I absolutely memorize before taking the UPCAT?
10. If you could go back, what Math topics would you spend more time reviewing?
11. Were there questions that could be answered through logic or estimation instead of full computation?
12. How important was reading the question carefully? Were there many questions designed to mislead you?
13. Is mastering the basics enough to get a high score, or should I also study advanced topics?
14. Which topic surprised you the most on the exam?
15. What advice would you give someone who's average at Math but wants to do well in the UPCAT?

what the title said! para po sa pinsan kong preparing for CETS (especially UPCAT) hehe please lapag po kayo ☹️ ang revcen ko kasi last year vacay szn pa yon before UPCAT so there’s no way na may avail pa sila today knowing na 1 month left nalang. Ty!

Hello po! Ano po usually yung mga topics na madalas lumabas? Mas focused ba siya sa algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, or may halo-halo talaga?

In terms of difficulty, gaano po siya kahirap? Madalas ba siyang puro mahahabang solving, or more on analyzing the question and applying concepts? May mga shortcut or techniques ba na helpful dahil sa time pressure?

May mga topics po ba na sobrang worth i-prioritize kasi halos every year lumalabas? At ano po yung mga types of questions na pinakanahirapan kayo or ng karamihan sa mga nag-take?

Lastly, kung magre-review po ngayon, ano yung mga dapat talagang ma-master para maging prepared sa Math section?

hello po! Kinakabahan na po talaga ako for the exam cuz hindi po ako masyado nakapag review for upcat since late po start ng summer break namin nd because of the heavy workload, hindi ko po talaga kinaya ipagsabay magreview.

So I’m only starting to review rn for the entirety of July…

I am focusing on studying in math kasi sobrang bobits ko po talaga sa math, pero the course I chose for upcat is polisci nd more humanities related courses.

I would say madali na saakin yung language proficiency part, so I would put it as my least priority

Should I give every single subtest the same amount of priority or is there a cut off for each course?

Hi! I’m currently writing my answer for the question “Why do you want to enroll in UP?” for manual appeals, and I’m wondering how long it should ideally be.

Should it be just a short paragraph explaining my motivation, or is it okay to write a more detailed answer with personal experiences, reasons for choosing the course/campus, and future goals?

I’m worried that my answer might be too long, but I also don’t want it to sound generic. Would appreciate any advice from people who have gone through this process. Thank you!

hello. kaka-start lang ng pasukan namin this week at afternoon shift ako from 12 PM to 7 PM. sa totoo lang po, hindi ko napigilan sarili ko na maging competitive sa klase dahil ayaw ko naman na wala akong maisagot sa recitations or quizzes. siguro rin, takot akong ma-left behind kasi ang active ng cms ko. i spent almost my time preparing sa school, mga gawain, at pag-a-advance read sa grade 12 subjects. sabi ko sa sarili ko, unahin ko ang CETS dahil ayaw kong magsisi. pero pakiramdam ko, kapos ako sa oras kasi uuwi ako na medyo pagod sa gabi tapos wala na masyadong oras sa umaga. hindi na nga ako tumanggap ng ibang leadership positions, maliban lang sa school publication namin. i’m really frustrated kasi gustong-gusto ko mag-aral pero may nakatambak na gawain kang iisipin kaya hindi makapag-focus. though, may weekends + isang araw na rest day naman kami, pero gusto ko sana na daily akong mag-aral para tumatak talaga sa isipan ko.

AAAAAA this is really stressful. almost summer vacay ko, wala akong pahinga kahit grabe rin ang pagod at stress ko noong grade 11 para lang talaga sa UPCAT. i swear, almost every night na akong nagbi-breakdown kasi i don’t know how if i’m going to pass my dream university. 🥹 IDK ANONG UUNAHIN KOOOO

These days, I've been taking multiple mock tests and reviewing all my wrong answers afterward. The problem is that it takes me a really long time to review them 😭😭😭

I can spend almost an hour studying just 2-3 items because I want to understand every mistake thoroughly and make sure I know how to solve similar questions in the future. Because of that, my mock tests keep piling up, and I feel like I'm not getting enough exposure to new questions from other mock tests/exams 😔😔

I'm torn between reviewing mistakes deeply and moving on faster so I can answer more questions. How do upcat passers or anyone from my batch balance both? Do you guys have a system for deciding which mistakes deserve a deep review and which ones only need a quick correction?

I'm also juggling schoolwork at the same time, so time management has been a struggle HSHSHSHS 😭😭 Any tips from people who reviewed for UPCAT or other CETs would be appreciated 🥺🤍

So I have never reviewed in my entire life, and I’m not exaggerating. So now idk what to do 😭, I found reviewers and just started taking notes and a few online mock test as well, but I don’t think it’s really working ☹️. Please help 😭
