Sports engine

Gotta say it. This is dog shit. Pulling up a not perfect stream on my team’s YouTube channel on my tv is better than trying to watch this on my phone.

Edited to add: TOP OF THE SOUTH ATLANTIC TABLE FTW!!! (yes, I know it’s just two matches played but I’ve had a shit month. Let me take a W when I can)

A new kit for a new decade

Smart went crazy.

For our 10th Anniversary, we remixed a classic...and made it bold, brash, and - inspired by our friends Atmosphere - we made it a little crazy. We've spent these years building, grinding, winning, crying, cheering, and living and dying with this club.

It's been a wild ride this last decade.

It's gonna be a wild one this next decade.

Because we we're still here to show that us regular people can go toe-to-toe with the big money and the big clubs. We're hungrier than ever. We're more focused than ever. We're going to make this one the best decade ever.

Anyway, go buy the shirt.

Akron City Stadium

Anyone know where Akron City will play in 2026?

Was looking up info for a summer trip back to my hometown when I notices the club website listing the 30,000 seat Infocision at Akron U. Which isn't really wide enough for a proper pitch. Nearby First Energy home of Zips Soccer makes more sense but City's club capacity is listed as 3,000. Are they staying at Green Street? Just curious!

Cut by St. Louis City, USL2 Champion with Vermont, Now With Richmond

A really honest and insightful interview with Owen O'Malley, current player and leader for Richmond Kickers.

Owen’s journey has been anything but linear:

  • Released by MLS side St. Louis City
  • Became a USL2 legend with Vermont Green, leading them to the USL League Two Championship last season
  • Now making his mark in USL League One with Richmond

In this chat we talk about:

  • The emotional side of being cut by an MLS club
  • What winning the USL2 title meant to him
  • Transitioning back to pro ball with Richmond
  • Leadership, proving people wrong, and his outlook for 2026

It’s a great redemption/under-dog story with a lot of real talk about the realities of the American soccer pyramid.

Teams likely to make the jump to usl 1 soon?

Hey guys, I know this question has probably been asked a million times before but I feel like it's been a bit since it was last asked. So my apologies if you are annoyed at this.

Right now only FT Lauderdale is confirmed to make the jump so that's out of the question however I'm trying to see who else will probably make it in the next 2-3 years.

Right now I have (from most to least likely):

Dothan United SC - Is super ambitious and has stated they want to go pro multiple times.

Asheville City SC- Has good infrastructure and decent attendance

Annapolis Blues FC - Very high attendance

Ballard FC - Has shown interest in joining USL L1 and has decent attendance

Vermont Green - One of the most competitive and well known teams. It out preforms many of these teams above it, however it might not happen due to them being against using carbon dioxide (so no transportation from long distances)

Honorable mentions?:

Little Rock Rangers

Flint City Bucks

Rochester FC (Minnesota)
