turning a real butterfly into a UV resin necklace -advice needed!

I found this butterfly in the garden and would love to turn it into a necklace. I don't have much experience with UV resin yet.

Can I apply the UV resin directly onto the wings, or are there better methods?

I also saw a video where someone laminated the individual wings first using a laminator and laminating pouches.

However, I would prefer to keep the butterfly whole and just make a hole in each of the wings at the end. Is there a way to press the butterfly to make it flat without breaking it?

Recommendations for highly pigmented liquid dyes for UV resin (Crystal clear + Deep colors)

Hi everyone,

I'm currently setting up my jewelry brand and will be using HeyClear UV resin. I'm on the hunt for the best liquid dyes (no mica) that are fully compatible with UV curing.

My goal is to achieve rich, deep, dark colors—especially a deep "blood red"—while maintaining perfect, crystal-clear transparency. I’ve had issues with pigments blocking UV light or preventing a proper cure in the past, so I'm looking for high-quality, highly concentrated dyes that won't compromise the curing process.

Does anyone have specific brand recommendations or tips for getting that saturated, glass-like look without the resin staying sticky?

Thanks for the help!

I made a Frutiger Aero dopamine reset toy 🫧🐬🌱🩵✨🦋🪲

This is my favorite dopamine toy I’ve made, it’s meant to sit on your desk and give you a lil break from the screens. You can escape for a few moments back in time to those watery digital landscapes we grew up seeing. It’s also reminiscent of an underwater video game level from the early 2000s. I hope you love this as much as I do, I just felt like sharing it 🫧🩵🌱

Excited to begin my UV resin journey!

I used to crinkle my nose at the thought of working with resin because I'd heard from other crafter friends that the smell can be strong. Years later, I find that UV resin is a thing and it does not have as strong an odour as its regular counterpart. So, I happily ordered materials! I'm just waiting for one more package (glitters) before I start on my first project (refillable pens)!

Any advice for a beginner?
