Do you think I have a chance of getting a full tuition scholarship or even accepted at all?
I hope this question reaches out to as much past Caribbean students as possible. I am a Jamaican student who is currently attending sixth form (it’s like a pre university program). I am finishing up my unit 1 CAPE exams for the year.
I have always been interested in studying abroad but I believed that it would be a waste of my time if even trying since I am studying business. Anyways I changed my mind figured why not give it try since I’m almost done with high school.
I have watched countless videos about Umiami and other universities, but to me Umiami sticks out to me.
In terms of my stats or academic resume, I am a pretty average student with pretty weak ECs. I have a 3.60 QPA for my first semester, passed 11 CSEC subjects with 5 CAPE subjects pending.
I have been on a mission to use my two years to at-least build up on that. Additionally, I plan to study for the SATs this summer so I can upcoming fall. I hope that if I can get a slightly higher than average score that I could be considered for a scholarship.
