The anime adaptation isn't hitting near the same as the manga.

I just finished the incredible uzumaki manga the other day and rushed out of my way when I saw they made a steelbook and anime centered around it! However..I'm 2 episodes in and honestly contemplating returning it all together. Something just isn't feeling right and I'm trying to put it together. Notably the pacing has been off, it feels to rushed. I want much longer time with these characters to build the tension the book does so well. Kiries father dies so fast I hardly even cared about the situation. A longer series would have worked better with such rich content we were given from Junji. I also noticed that the animation, specifically after episode 1, totally nosedived. I noticed people floating while walking, close ups lacking any detail or movement and background characters being downright a blurry mess. Not all is bad though, you can tell that their is some care that was put into a few scenes that really looked great. But with this episode 2 drop off I cant help but feel robbed of what they started the show with quality wise..what happened?? I might finish it for the sake of hopefully correcting my statement but I feel like a body of work like this warrant significantly more production money and quality. Voice acting for the sub was good as a side note.
