RIP PS3 and Vita Stores
The first Vanillaware game that I played was Grim Grimoire(PS2) on the PS3 and fall in love with their games and got out to play all their games that I could at the time.
Thankfully we got GG Once More and Muramasa Revenant Blades but even if they are better versions they are not the same games.
(Also I really like the dialogue in this version in once more they do dialogue bubbles that sometimes cover the sprites.)
I hope they release Dragon's Crown Pro - Treasure of Demon Island to PC in English!
For those who didn't know there is an Extra Mode in Dragon's Crown Pro that adds some New Stuff... But it was never released outside of Japan sadly... : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcxv8p_DGxo&t=6s
There is a Game similar to it being released in English soon by a Former Vanillaware Dev though called Veritas Tales : Witch of the Dark Castle that may be worth checking out... : https://store.steampowered.com/app/4508570/Veritas_Tales_Witch_of_the_Dark_Castle/
Odin Sphere Gwendolyn Art Signed by Ayako Kawasumi (JPN VA)
I had the privilege of meeting Ayako Kawasumi years ago and got my Odin Sphere Gwendolyn art signed by her in person.
If they were all released simultaneously on Steam, how much would you pay? 💸
13 Sentinels is super impressive. It's a narrative masterpiece.
Unicorn Overlord became one of my favourite games of all time as soon as I played it on release. The artwork is phenomenal and the gameplay deep and rewarding. It's only drawback for me being that it was too easy even on the hardest setting and the narrative was rather lackluster.
In the last few weeks I've just gotten into 13 Sentinels and the narrative is blowing me away! Apparently Kamitani spent 5 years planning out the parallel stories into massive flowcharts to ensure the story can be enjoyed in pretty much any order you choose. And the hard sci fi setting, sense of mystery and suspense, as well as the character development and dialogue are all exceptional. In contrast to Unicorn Overlord the gameplay is more basic and shallow, it's kinda like if you only got the real-time map and movement and Valor skills of UO, but it's still pretty fun.
I know this game has been out for a while now, and I'm probably preaching to the choir, but you gotta go check out this game!
It's so worth getting through the prologue chapters because after that it opens up and the story might be one of the best that's ever been realised in a video game. Certainly in terms of sci fi.
I really want GrimGrimoire OnceMore on PC!
Ugh I have SUCH a Strong Urge to play GrimGrimoire right now! >_<
I feel like the Gameplay would work just fine on PC! I hope Vanillaware works with NISA on making a PC Port!
Just sharing a photo I took today!
I cannot wait......!!!
