500 Soldiers with Haitian Ancestry that were free or either Mulatto from St. Domingue joined French Forces to help America fight against the British for their independence. Although they were under the French banner because Haiti was not established until 1804, they were undeniably Haitian and they are our Haitian ancestors. Thank you to Haiti for their contribution towards America’s independence.
