Angie 🤔🥴😩😠

I love both the show and the books. I started reading the books in May, and I can say I love the books Amanda and Faith just as much as the TV versions.

However, I lothe book Angie. I am halfway through book 8 (The Kept Woman), and I threw my iPad in anger (I use the Kindle app on it) at her behavior. She is written VERY well because she elicits emotions in me that few characters do.

Do any other book readers have a visceral reaction to her as I do? Honestly, I want to feel for her, but I can’t find any empathy for her in the way I do with TV Angie.

Read my first Will Trent Book

I am a fan of the TV show but never read the books. After all the discussions here, I finally read Triptych.

It’s safe to say that Karin Slaughter did not have Ramon Rodriguez when she created Will Trent.

For me the best part was not Will Trent or Angie or Ormewood (wow, the TV show certainly changed that character). It was John Shelley. What a great character, a man in a double bind, worthy of a Polanski movie. And Ms. Lam, of course.

(Season 4) A Theory…

Good day to all! I woke up with a random theory in mind. I ran it past my husband, but he does not agree. Here goes:

I think Will’s therapist is in his head. Like imaginary…

Hear me out: I understand that counseling sessions can take place outside of offices or phones/video chats, but I just watched an episode where the therapist was in Will’s house. That raised a yellow flag for me. Am I tripping?

Edit: My apologies if this has been posted previously. I just joined the subreddit this morning.

Thank you to those who have engaged respectfully 🥰.

Bad show runners?

I recently discovered the series on Hulu and am currently close to the end of season 3. It started very strong. Case of the week with a brilliant but complicated hero.

But it all went down the drain. And that's ot because of the actors. It's that what the series wants us to believe doesn't match what the series shows. Will Trent has become the most unlikable, egocentric, passive aggressive idiot i have ever seen. He cares about himself, and only about himself. Far away from the "oh Will cares about everyone but himself" the other characters keep telling about. He's ice cold and bathes in guilt, enjoying it every second. He cares a lot about himself with his expensive cars, hightech entertainment and custom-tailored suits. He might protect himself with it, that still means he cares about himself. Everytime he cries, it's because of self-pity and I'm annoyed.

I heard that the books have a different tone, where this topic of guilt actually makes sense. So, who is to blame? The screen writers, the show runners?

I don't think i will continue after season 3. Unless you tell me, that something drastically changes in season 4?

Not a show watcher but this still applies. Questions about Will.

I’m a book reader and have never seen the show. I’m not going to watch the show until I finish reading the series but anybody else wonder certain things about Will like how did he get a drivers license? Doesn’t every state have a written and driving portion of the test? How did he take any test for that matter? Like in college, he would be able to take notes with his tape recorder because those have always been around in his lifetime. If he had dyslexia and just told the college, I’m sure they would’ve made accommodations for him to do the tests orally. However, he won’t even go to the doctor because he doesn’t want to fill out the forms and tell them that he is dyslexic. So I can’t imagine him telling his college about his learning disability.

First time Watcher finished s1

I have started watching Will trent recently, and I'm enjoying it so far. It's one of the few shows where I've seen no spoilers.

Why is someone always fighting for their life every episode? Will,Faith,Angie, ormwood like Damn.

I like the Will and Faith dynamic they can't stand each other, but when one of themselves in danger, they worry a lot.

I think Will and Faith might hook up at some point. wether, they'll have a long-term thing, idk, but I feel like it will happen.

I also think Ormwoods wife might come after Angie the way she reacted when she was over, And her and Will need to either break up or work through their issues because they make out, argue, say I care about you, then repeat.

It took almost the whole season to fund out the relationship between Faith and Amanda. I didn't want to search up on Google cause I'll get spoilers. Also, do they talk more about Faiths diabetes more cause I thought there'd be more to that.cause her diagnosis is recent.and Wills dyslexia.

Kinda let down

I remember reading these books maybe 15 to 20 years ago. In my case that basically means Ive never read them because literally the only thing I remember is that I liked them. So, I decided to binge the show. Was liking it even though I'm born and raised in the ATL and tons of things aren't accurate. Especially Will's accent. I'm sorry but a foster kid that grew up in Atlanta isn't walking around with a Cajun accent. It almost made me turn the show off. But here's what really gets me. After binging the show I decided to go back and reread the books. Just finished Triptych. I'm not going to drop any spoilers but how do you take such a vile character and make them likable and part of the main cast for four seasons?

What is your favorite Book?

I’m going through Will Trent withdrawals and I want to read more books. Even though they are vastly different. I’ve read Fallen and loved it. But I’m a sucker for faith.
I’m not really interested in reading them in order more for which ones you think are fun and interesting. So which ones are your favorites?
