My POCO X8 Pro Max is only 2 months old and is advertised with IP69K water resistance (up to 2m for 30 mins). A few days ago, it accidentally fell into a bucket of clean still water for just a few seconds. I immediately took it out.

After some time, water vapour/condensation started appearing inside both the front and rear cameras. The top speaker also became slightly muffled initially. The phone itself is still working perfectly and has no major physical damage.

What confuses me is that IP69K is marketed as being able to withstand even high-pressure water exposure, yet my device showed internal moisture from such a minor accidental exposure.

This makes me wonder:

- Has anyone else faced this issue with POCO/Xiaomi devices?

- Could this be a sealing or QC defect?

- Did the service center help or simply reject it as “water damage”?

I’m posting this to understand whether this is an isolated issue or something more users are facing. I’ll also update this post after visiting the official service center.
