Constant hiss from Yamaha THR30iiw when on power adapter and using a cable connection
hi, redditians-thrians
Recently visited a private person who was selling yamaha thr30iiw + line6 relay
The seller said that a combo is almost not used and is in pristine state and combo + transmitter were bought at the same time. Also, he doesn't like playing electric guitar. An acoustic Furch was hanging on the wall. A stratocaster was on a stand.
What I faced:
- The wireless transmitter line6 was uncharged. Also, a receiver's jack was polished to matte
- Katana on stationary power was giving a constant unavoidable hiss which didn't disapper even after switching from single coils to a humbucker.
I was using the same cable as I use with other amps. The cable is from Fender and is silent with my Katana 50, yamaha thr10ii, microcube and all other devices. The guitar I used for test is completely OK (fender player strat HSS)
Hiss was present even on a clean amp models and didn't depend on anything. Switching between amp models didn't remove this hiss, as it didn't disappear between clean/crunch/hi gain amps and after any rotations of knobs.
When I was playing the same cable/guitar on my recently sold yamaha thr10ii, everything was silent or adequately hummed on hi gain amp models.
Is it a hardware issue of a specific thr30iiw or a hardware design flaw?
P.S. When I was leaving the seller's apartment, he closed the door very loudly ))) But his cat was sooo handsome.
