Zeekr 7x vs Zeekr 001 Help

Hello! I’m planning on getting a Zeekr, but I just can’t decide between these two.
I actually prefer how the 001 drives compared to the 7X, but the 001 is obviously quite a bit older, especially when it comes to the hardware and infotainment system.
My main concern is the future of the 001 in terms of software updates. Do you think its older hardware will limit future updates, new features, or even a newer/better UI?
For those who own either one, which would you choose and why?
Edit: I’m talking about the EU / GCC versions.

7gt - range core vs longe range. real world difference?

core WLTP 519km

long range 655km.

ok, but what does that translate to when actually driving the car with a mix of highway, city under lets say summer and fall?

Zeekr X braking sound

I bought a full performance 2024 Zeekr X. I love the car but very often the brakes or auto hold has a very squeaky sound. Is this normal?

Zeekr 7X fridge remote control

Hello, I'm curious about the fridge aftermarket fit in the European version.

Is it possible to control it from a remote app?

If not, how does the timer behave, it will cool even when the car is locked?

Any more hands-on operation would be great insight! I'm strongly considering it as number one accessories.

Some 7GT questions to owners (or those who know)

I have some questions to 7GT owners:

  1. Can you save the seating position, door mirrors and steering wheel in profiles?
  2. Are those profiles auto loaded because the car recognizes you or do you have to manually switch?
  3. Can you customize the drive settings (eco, comfort, sport) in a individual profile, so you can mix and match what you like? For example steering wheel comfort and suspension sport?
  4. Anyone got a baby seat? Is it working well with the steep back seats?
  5. What kind of sound (AVAS) does the car produce when going below 20 kph?
  6. Are there distracting reflections in the mirror caused by ambient light (at night)?
  7. Can the annoying attention sensor be circumvented with a bit of tape over the sensor (like a lot of other cars)?
  8. Can the dimming of audio/music on alerts be disabled?

Regen and thus braking differs based on acceleration mode?

Hi all.

First time poster in the group and very recent owner.

I was getting to know the car today and was curious to see how the car manages regen. As in, which motor in my AWD performance is recovering power when slowing down.

What i found in my early testing is that the acceleration mode determines the regen power too. If you are in standard or comfort acceleration, the regen will be engaged for the rear motor only, as is the acceleration.

But if you put the mode into sport, then both motors are engaged for acceleration AND regen.

This results in a (possibly placebo) increase in deceleration as well, as both motors are braking the car in OPD mode.

I havent seen this particular aspect discussed in the group before (have been lurking for 5 months or so) so thought I should put it out there.

Can anyone else confirm my finding here? Happy for you guys to walk me out of the room if this is standard knowledge too, but seeing all the complaints about not enough regen, makes me think this post might strike a chord with people.

Thanks!

Edit: to add, I came to these findings by driving the car while observing the energy management screen in the settings. In comfort, the front motor hardly engages for normal or heavier than normal acceleration. In standard, the front motor engages just prior to stopping.

This leads to me having more confidence that a stronger regen mode is possible via software update

Tips for 7x Business Edition in the Netherlands.

I ordered a 7x business edition as my company car. Any tips for an owner in the Netherlands? For example what's the deal with the scents? How long do they last and can you get them cheaper online?

One month / ~2,000 km with my Zeekr 7GT Long Range RWD – honest owner impressions

So, I've now had my Zeekr 7GT Long Range RWD for about a month and have put roughly 2,000 km on it. Time for a first proper owner update.

Overall, I'm very happy with the car itself. The hardware is genuinely impressive for the price, but there are definitely some software and ADAS issues that Zeekr needs to address.

For context: EU-spec car, Netherlands, Long Range RWD, 421 hp.

Pros

Consumption / range

Trip 1 hasn't been reset and is currently showing 16.4 kWh/100 km after ~2,000 km.

On relaxed Sunday drives at around 80 km/h on Dutch provincial roads, I've seen as low as 14.4 kWh/100 km.

For summer conditions, I'm very happy with that. I'm curious to see what happens during winter.

At 80% charge, the car currently estimates around 534 km of range, so range anxiety is basically nonexistent for me. Obviously, I don't expect to actually get 534 km in every possible situation, but the efficiency is very good so far.

Comfort

The car is extremely comfortable for daily driving.

The interior feels well finished, the seats are excellent, and the suspension deals very well with speed bumps and poor roads. It's also impressively quiet inside at speed.

This is probably one of the things that surprised me most about the car.

Frunk

The frunk is actually useful.

I can fit the charging cable, a bottle of screenwash and a small funnel in there. It's obviously not the biggest frunk ever, but with the LR you get enough additional storage that you can keep the main boot free for luggage/shopping.

Performance

421 hp is more than enough for Dutch roads.

In Sport mode, going from 50 or 80 km/h to 120 km/h is seriously quick. The 5.3-second 0–100 km/h figure is still properly fast, especially for something this comfortable.

Air conditioning

The AC works extremely well. Both the front and rear cabin cool down quickly, even during hot weather.

The reflective layer in the panoramic roof also seems to be doing something, although I haven't scientifically tested it.

Attention / looks

You definitely don't drive a 13-a-dozen car.

Other drivers and pedestrians noticeably look at the car. It's actually quite funny how often people turn their heads when you drive past.

Software layout

After spending a few days rearranging buttons and settings to my liking, I actually find the interface quite logical.

The quick settings are particularly useful. Being able to swipe down and disable certain warnings is much better than digging through four different menus like I've had to do in some other cars.

Wireless CarPlay has also been excellent so far. Zero issues with it.

Sound system

The Zeekr Premium Sound system sounds genuinely good in Hi-Fi mode.

After making a few EQ adjustments to my preference, I'm very happy with it.

Zeekr Entertainment works also very well, apps like Youtube are working as expected when parked.

Rear seat space

Everyone who's sat in the back has commented positively on the space.

There's plenty of legroom and it's a very comfortable place to sit.

Cons / things Zeekr needs to fix

Software speed / bugs

The system can still feel surprisingly slow at times.

For example, sometimes I have to swipe down two or three times before the quick settings actually respond.

The built-in navigation is another weak point. Entering a destination and waiting for search results can take noticeably longer than it should, and sometimes the results aren't even correct.

The hardware clearly seems capable of much more.

ADAS

I had never really used ACC/LCC before this car, so I don't have much experience to compare it with, but I definitely understand the complaints now.

The car sometimes brakes unnecessarily in relatively wide motorway curves.

LCC also produces warning beeps quite frequently.

At the moment, I still prefer doing most of the driving myself.

Lane departure / warnings

This is probably my biggest annoyance.

On Dutch 60 km/h roads with dashed edge lines, the car can get confused. Even after disabling lane departure assistance, it sometimes seems to enable itself again and will actually steer against me on these roads.

That's not something I want from an assistance system. I'd much rather have the system stay off when I turn it off.

One-pedal driving

Regenerative braking isn't strong enough for my liking.

I frequently have to use the brake pedal, so true one-pedal driving isn't really practical.

It works when I know the road and can anticipate traffic far enough ahead, but in normal traffic I often end up using the brake anyway.

I'd love to see Zeekr improve the pedal mapping/regenerative braking behaviour through an OTA update.

Rear seatbelt issue

I also had a small mechanical issue: the rear seatbelt on the driver's side wouldn't pull out.

I folded the seat forward and found that the belt was caught around the mechanism/support used for moving the rear seat.

I freed it manually and afterwards the belt worked normally again.

Not a major issue, but worth mentioning.

First-world problems / nitpicking

These aren't really serious issues, but since I'm doing a proper owner report:

I still get small warning beeps even though I've disabled basically everything I can find. I eventually figured out these were warnings for speed bumps / road features ("shark teeth").

The navigation map is zoomed in slightly too much for my liking. I'd prefer to see more of the road ahead. As far as I can tell, there's no way to adjust this.

If I enter a destination in the Zeekr app at home and send it to the car, it doesn't automatically appear when I later get into the car.

Digital Key occasionally fails to unlock the car when I walk up to it. I've had to open the app manually a few times. Thankfully, it works correctly most of the time.

My phone still gets quite warm while wireless charging, despite the cooling system.

The black front bar gets dirty incredibly quickly. I'm cleaning it almost every day.

I'd really like to be able to cycle through all driving modes using the steering wheel button. At the moment I've assigned Sport to the button, but I'd much rather have the button cycle through Eco/Comfort/Sport etc.

Overall verdict after one month

Very happy with the car itself.

The comfort, driving performance, efficiency, interior quality and overall hardware are all very good. The car feels considerably more mature mechanically than some people might expect from a relatively new Chinese brand.

Where Zeekr still has work to do is software and ADAS.

The frustrating part is that most of my complaints feel like things that could be fixed with OTA updates: faster software, better navigation, improved ADAS calibration, better regenerative braking and more consistent settings.

So far, I'm definitely happy with my decision to buy the 7GT LR RWD.

Now I'm mainly curious to see how it performs through the Dutch winter, especially consumption, range and charging.

TL;DR: Great hardware, excellent comfort, very good efficiency and plenty of performance. Software and ADAS still need some serious polishing, but after one month I'm still very happy with the car.

Parking assist owners opinion ?

Hello,

I'm thinking of getting a Zeekr 7x or 8x for my fiancé but she is so bad at parking and goes twice a week in the city.

I was wondering if owners could share their opinion on the parking assist that parks the car for you, is it good ?

Thank you !

Drive Settings - speed limit warning

Hi, I just picked up my Zeekr 7X (in Norway) and one of the 'new features' described to me in the software was an ability to set drive settings, I accessed them through the quick settings and wanted to turn off the speed limit warning so selected it as OFF in the drop down and saved but it keeps coming back each time I start the car again. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Firmware 2.2 regenerative braking

So I update to the new firmware on day 1 and I am a fan on single pedal driving but it seems that the regenerative braking constantly keeps goibg to moderate instead of high.
I notice this almost directly due to my longer braking distance.

Is there a way to force it to high for always?

In general why do I constantly need to select atuff to keep them activated. Like Sentry mode, I dont want stuff to be reset everty time, if I want it off I will de-select it 😞

Zeekr 7x 360 camera glitches

Hi, we’ve had our Zeekr 7x for 6 months and the reverse and 360 cameras are now starting to glitch. We have the most recent 2.1.1d Zeekr OS update. Rebooted several times - glitch still present. Zeekr GPS is also useless. Anyone with similar camera problems and remedy suggestions? Thanks
