No Buy / Low buy

Hi! 🤍

I am going on a no buy and it made me curious if any of you are doing that too? :) I would love to hear about your editions!!

I have been trying low buy but moving more towards my edition of no buy - starting today and first part goal is the rest of the year:

• I am going on a complete no buy on beauty products like skincare and makeup, I have enough to sustain for a loooong time. The only exception of necessities like shower gel and toothpicks since I'm not sure I have enough for the rest of 2026. Also haircolour but that's like one or two until the new year.

• Complete no buy on stuff like home decor, books, dvds, kitchen appliances etc. My only exception is that I am giving two pieces of furniture to my nieces and will buy the replacement for that.

• Clothing will be only be if something necessary breaks and cannot be repaired. But otherwise I have what I need for my current size and the upcoming seasons + most pieces for a size down.

• Takeaway and stuff like that, no exceptions.

What is not included at all:

• Gifts for birthday and Christmas and experiences (cinema, concerts etc).

I know some would say this is not really a no buy hence why I call it my edition. 🙂‍↕️

My goal with this is to save money as 1st priority and 2nd is to pay some extra off debt, but honestly my savings account is hungry. 😆

Freezer Tracker

So we have a wonderful upright freezer in our garage. The idea is to utilize it not just for meat but also for freezer meals, easy reheatable lunches and Etc. I despise food waste probably more than anything so everything gets broken down into freezable servings to use again at a future date.

The problem however is I was losing track of what was in my freezer and I really didn't want to go buy something. I've tried digital apps before I've tried paper notebooks but it hit me the other day that a dry erase marker works great on my freezer so this is what I come up with.

I used a magnet that we already had, yarn already had, super glue already had, and only bought the dry erase markers which I needed anyways.

I tied one end of the yarn to the magnet super glued the other end to the cap of the marker so now I can just interchange markers out and got to sorting everything on the freezer.

So while not a complete no-, buy project it was very minimal and it will help future No buys and anti-consumption by making sure I use what I have and not letting things go to waste. Which is a huge win in my book.
