After seven days of an indefinite hunger strike in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, JNUSU Joint Secretary Danish Ali has been admitted to RML Hospital after her blood sugar reportedly fell to 46 mg/dL.
Students at the protest site gathered as she was taken away in an ambulance, raising slogans and reiterating their demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Nearly ten protesters, including climate activist and educator Sonam Wangchuk continue their indefinite hunger strike, saying they will not end the protest until their demands are addressed.
Protesters argue that the government’s response has been marked by silence and inaction, even as the health of participants continues to deteriorate.
As the movement enters another critical phase, students and supporters are calling for urgent attention to the protesters’ health.
