Disney Merchandise in Beijing Wangfujing Area?

Hi everyone!

I'll be visiting Beijing before heading to Shanghai Disneyland and was wondering if there are any stores around Wangfujing Street where I can buy Disney merch, especially the ears, at a lower price than inside Shanghai Disneyland which I hear to be heavily priced.

I'm looking for good-quality items rather than obvious knockoffs. Any recommendations for stores, shopping malls, Disney-themed shops, or places that sell Disney merch would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! 😊

Dive bars in Beijing?

Hi everyone - me (35) and my partner (34) are visiting China for two weeks from the UK next month and are spending four nights in Beijing.

Please can you recommend some good drinking spots in the city. We generally like dive bar type venues, rock and roll bars, or just relaxed bars with good music (I know that's subjective!) and a decent atmosphere.

Is there anywhere like this in Beijing? I've had a quick look and the majority of places seem to either focus on louder, club music or are cocktail bars.

We like to park ourselves at a bar for a few hours, drink beer, listen to good music and hopefully strike up a few conversations.

I would appreciate your suggestions, thank you!

Buying Tea and Yixing

Hello, where can I buy quality tea and real yixing teapots in Beijing?

I’ve read that Maliandao Market is a little intimidating for non-natives.

Also, is there a way to distinguish shops that sell fake yixing from shops that sell the real stuff?

Apartments/Leasing Agents in Haidian?

At the end of the month, I’ll be flying to Beijing and living there as an international student for the school year! I’m incredibly excited, and in preparation, I’d love to have any insight on apartments in the Haidian district- at most, all I need for myself is really just a studio/loft/1 bedroom with access to the trains and/or within decent walking distance so I can commute to school (I’ll be going to Beijing Film Academy, for reference!).

I’ve heard mixed reviews about ziroom, and I know LianJia is a good option, but I’d rather leave them as a later option as I’ve heard the realtor fee can be expensive sometimes. What other places should I be searching with??

Flag raising ceremony tickets and techno clubs in Beijing

Hey,

I know it's a weird combination to put in one post, but yeah...

I am coming to Beijing in mid march. I'm searching for the tickets to flag-raising ceremony in Tiananmen square and have a problem: if i try to buy tickets on Wechat miniapp, it says invalid phone number(I guess because it's not Chinese?), and if I try to buy them via trip.com, it redirects me to Wechat mini app or btime where i can't find them. The only tickets I found on trip.com are really expensive (100$+). I found a site(etripchina) that sells them for $5, but I don't know if I can trust this site with my passport number. Are there any alternatives?

My other question is about techno scene in Beijing: where can I find a club that plays techno and is worth visiting? If possible, I'd like a club that plays industrial techno or something similar.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Fortnite community in Beijing

I’m(20M) a local college student here in Beijing. But the reality is it seems like not many people play Fortnite here in Beijing and I’m tired of playing Fortnite alone all the time. So is there any Fortnite community here in Beijing?

i’ve never wanted fast food more in my life

i’ve been in china for a month now, and my instagram keeps giving me american mukbang content (people eating just heinous amounts of taco bell, wingstop, chipotle, mcdonalds, in n out, etc.) i am FIENDING for grotesquely orange fake cheese sauce, fried chicken smothered in ranch, and burritos practically leaking queso.

i’ve been to a couple of the fast food chains here (burger king, mcdonald’s), but it all tastes too high-quality?

is there anywhere in beijing i can go to eat pure american degeneracy, or am i doomed to suffer from good food quality regulations? it doesn’t even have to be fast food, as long as the place’s food helps me reach that really satisfied, heavy feeling that follows a proper american fast food meal.
