Non-Black “progressives” think colorism affects lighter skinned people most

Something I’ve noticed is that whenever Black women discuss colorism and erasure, they will hijack our conversations and say we are “racist“ for saying half white mixed women aren’t Black enough. they will victimize mixed and light skinned women and accuse darker women of being bitter and jealous (colorist Black ppl do this too)

but when darker women are being called ugly or excluded from media, they will either stay quiet or insist it’s just a preference, complain about us “making things about race” and “creating problems that don’t exist“

Race swaps of white characters outrage them, but when a Black character is given lighter skin than they originally had, they see no issue and “they’re still Black omg skin color doesn’t matter”

why are they like this?? can they only empathize with whoever is closest to their own image??

I can’t be upset at men for not liking black women when I don’t even like myself

Sometimes I catch myself getting offended or upset when I see a man express that he doesn’t like black women, but then I remember: “Who am I to get upset about that when I don’t even like myself to begin with?”

I don’t even like being a black woman. Everyday I fantasize about being pretty girl of another race, hoping that then I would receive male attention. If I am fantasizing about pretty non-black women, I should also expect them to do the the same.

I just have to learn to cope with it since there’s literally nothing I can do.

"I prefer black girls" , but they weren't actually talking about her:

Whenever someone states they "prefer black women", it always makes me feel some type of way because I know what black women in their head think of. And if such a black woman is to deviate from that racist stereotypical preconception they are suddenly "white washed" or "I wasn't talking about that type of black women". If you don't like ALL black women, don't say you prefer them, it always implies that you think the race has some inherent qualities in physical appearance or aspects of personality you prefer when that's just simply pseudoscience. And this goes for ALL aesthetics black women fall into.

Black women can be anything, and do anything, and don't fit into the mold that society tries to put us into. We are not just sex objects to pleasure you, but we are people that want someone to know our souls, explore our being, and feel a genuine sense of sentiment and longing.

Black women are so much more then the box society consistently tries to put us into. You are beautiful and so much more than that!

Any other overweight dark skin girls with bad skin? I feel like I’ve lost the genetic lottery. Me unfiltered and girls who I want to look like

I’m in the process of losing weight, just got Tretinoin and azelaic acid. I have a very clear image of what I want to look like. Every black girl I see has perfect clear skin. I blame it mostly on my bad diet and weight I suppose. Food is what I used to cope with being the most undesirable and subhuman. I just dug myself into a deeper hole. I look like a fucking gorilla

OMG I JUST WOKE UO FROM A NAP ALL THESE SWEET COMMENTS

i keep considering suicide

Guys, I'm tired, and I'm deeply depressed.

I feel like no one in my life cares about me. I wish someone cared, but nobody does because I'm not conventionally attractive. I thought I found somebody who cared about me the way I cared about them, but they were like all the other people who used me.

I hate that this is the role I constantly have to play. I don't hate beautiful women. I want to be one of them. One of the Black women other Black girls look up to. The Black woman who gets chosen, centered, celebrated, loved, cherished, and poured into.

I hate me. I hate being me. I've never hated anyone more than myself because society taught me that I have no value.

I will never feel bad for these bp looksxmaxxing Moids

I genuinely do not care about these males at all most of them are racist and corny asf. These males hate on non white women openly all the time (brown and black women) even the ones that are brown and black themselves. I cannot explain how much I loath them, idk why there’s propaganda on social media to feel bad for them and how they’re “shunned by society” or how they’re insecure lonely males but I just dgaf when most hate me for my existence. They’re so awful and annoying I wish ts never went mainstream on social media.

My existence is why I’m agnostic

I truly don’t want to believe any higher power would be cruel enough to create Black women and put us through this. ill never understand why so many of us are religious and see suffering as some proof of closeness to God. it objectively doesn’t make sense. He gave the “white devils“ the most success, beauty, love, respect and power over us because…we are his children?

No one's fantasy and Everyone's enemy.

Not drunk, just rambling this time.

I will never forgive SJWs and hoodrats for collapsing our social capital. We bear the scarlet letter now and maybe indefinitely. We're so heavily disliked we're not even allowed to be (rightfully) upset at the prospect of being compared to men without being labeled as "transphobes". Once again, I say that souls apparently cannot be contained in "ugly" vessels. Everything and everyone that isn't beautiful is an "empty creature" lacking in emotion, intelligence, desire, or humanity--or at least not permitted to express any of this. Because how dare we pretend to be "human" when we are an affront to it, apparently.

For example: look at how people react when street dogs bark vs when people yell, and consider how humans would normally react to both scenarios. Dogs are received with irritation and "people" are received with concern. Sympathy is considered for the human-attributed.

I hate how aware I am of all this shit. Unfortunately, I'm afflicted with the curse of Cassandra. I'm cursed with knowing, even when I think I want to live in denial. I can't help but notice, and many times I hate how often I'm correct. I hate that I'm so skilled at magnifying and deciphering subtext. I hate how opaque people actually are. How obvious the truth is, and yet still see so many black women in denial. Makes me wish everyone was made of glass so I could unknow them, un-perceive them.

On a high note, I think it's metal as fuck to be hated by the biblical Antichrist. To offend, disgust, and just downright repulse the tangerine devil-in-chief feels like a God-given superpower. The whole "rejection is God's protection" schtick that's otherwise just mega cope should be worn as a badge of honor.

Confession: I sometimes get annoyed seeing couples with non-BW

I know I’m gonna make myself sound insane here, but sometimes I get annoyed looking at couples of any race where the woman isn’t black. I just know the guy is one of those “I’m not attracted to black women, I can’t help it, I’m not a coon/racist though” guys. And I feel like his love and affection for her is based on her not being black.

I think to myself that he would never love her if she were black, he wouldn’t give her compliments or buy her flowers or make her feel special because black women supposedly don’t deserve those things. And he loves her straight hair and light skin and would be repulsed by her if she had the opposite features.

I know it’s kind of illogical but with all the hate BW receive on and offline, I just assume all men agree with those views until explicitly proven otherwise.

I assume Black men that date white women hate Black women (and I’m usually right)

my experiences have taught me that they consistently compare BW to other races negatively. I’ve genuinely never encountered one (in person) that treated or spoke of BW normally while dating WW. All of them had offensive things to say about BW, including my male relatives that date other races yet are close with the women in their family.

I don’t have any issue with interracial relationships and Black men aren’t my preference whatsoever, but this is still always in the back of my mind when I see or am forced to interact with them. To the point where I just simply can’t see them as a viable romantic choice despite being a Black woman.

What do they think they're accomplishing with these messages?

"Maybe not as attractive to me as the hottest Latinas"

"I don't think running my fingers through an afro will ever feel as good as running my fingers through White/Latina/Asian hair, but it's not the end of the world at all."

This just reminded me to turn off my DMs. And lol, why on earth would I want to show this person my face?

I wish I didn’t care so much about race

I’m so fucking tired of constantly looking for threads on Reddit regarding black women. I’m so tired of worrying about what other people are saying about us. I’m tired intentionally looking for content about black women that I know will hurt me; I deliberately search things on the internet hoping that I find anti-black women content or content that reassures my beliefs.

I wish this did not happen to me. There are so many other black women in the world that are not fixated on what people on the internet think of them. They are not deliberately going out of their way to find content that they know will hurt them. I don’t why it had to be me that worries about this.

And I have to admit, I feel like it’s ruining my life right now. It’s literally all I fucking think about; 70% of the thoughts I have daily are about the hateful videos and comments I’ve seen men make about black women, the amount of likes they had, all of the threads I CONSTANTLY see about black women Reddit (and I’m really angry about that by the way. I can’t go one day without seeing a popular post of someone announcing that they don’t like black women or a post of a black women complaining on a predominantly white sub about how much she hates being black. It’s annoying.)

I used to have an eating disorder before this and that almost killed me but I would honestly rather live with that than live like this. Basing my self worth off of the opinions of men on the internet. At least when I had an eating disorder, I wasn’t so male centered and obsessed with male approval.

I just wanna see something positive once in while. I’m tired of all the negativity. I just want to have fun and laugh for a while, and forget about all the shit I see everyday, only for a few hours. It has even gotten to the point that things that are meant to be fun aren’t because I constantly think about the bullshit I see on the internet all day. God help me 💔

People getting mad when Black women are complimented or praised in any way

Go under any top/very liked post of someone calling a (full) Black and especially darker skinned woman beautiful and there will be several people disagreeing or accusing the person of lying for “social points”. this doesn’t happen with any other race of women

It never fails to astonish me how people genuinely get angry at even the idea of someone liking Black women. I noticed men in particular (especially some Black men) are guilty of this and will get upset if a guy they’re friends with or admire likes Black women. It’s not enough that they personally don’t like us, they want everyone to feel as they do.

this comment still haunts me, ngl.

I posted photos of myself last year to a Black women's subreddit, and I asked for advice on what I could do to change the way I thought of myself as I'd been dealing with low self-esteem for a long time. I talked about how I was bullied, struggled with my self-image, but wanted to know how I could change that. I never called myself "ugly" in the post, and none of my pictures were flattering. I had a bonnet on in pretty much all of them. I also apologized for looking unkempt, but made sure to tell everyone that I was physically clean. I also asked if there were any Black women who struggled with their self-worth, and could let me know what they did to improve their confidence. I knew not everyone was going to find me attractive. Hello, this is Reddit, but I tried going to a Black woman's space because I thought it was safe to do so.

This comment in particular made me feel bad because it confirmed that I didn't deserve to post in that space. Plus, I noticed that newer comments complimenting my appearance were getting downvoted, and this always happens to women who aren't conventionally attractive. I tried explaining my reasoning for making the post to the commenter, but I was downvoted, so I ended up deleting my comment entirely—including the post I made.

It was embarrassing. Lol, anyways, I'm never posting my face online again.

I truly surprised more black women aren't misanthropic.

Semi-drunk rant, but I need to dump this thought vomit somewhere.

The thing is: I don't hate being a black woman. At all. I think we have one of the most unique experiences of humanity (to many, that is below humanity, but I digress) one can have. We get to witness and be victim to the most primal, superficial sense of perception. We aren't afforded a soul to bear with our ugly vessels, no. We've committed one of the greatest transgressions one could ever commit... We had the fuckass nerve to be UGLY.

Sometimes I joke about us being borne of Lilith instead of Eve if all this religious nonsense turned out to be true. We've made the reputation for ourselves as being rebellious SJWs, so I think it's somewhat fitting. It pisses me off to still see so many black women be compassionate when compassion is rarely reciprocated. Our burdens are constantly mitigated or outright dismissed--because we're "ugly". Think about how silly, animalistic and absurd this shit sounds. I've seen comments talking about how our "lack of desirability" is the reason black men of centuries past weren't as inspired to build vast kingdoms like European men for their women. Like literally blaming US for THEIR shortcomings. Incredible. Absurd.

There's even a deliberate attempt at our erasure: "only the fathers need to be black for the children to be black". You have every other race dog-piling us for cool guy points with them. It pisses me the fuck off, again, to see black women be as pathetic and desperate for validation as we are. I fucking hate the girlies in wigs, weave or whatever the fuck, It pisses me off to see black women bleach their skin because IT MAKES THEIR INSECURITIES GLARINGLY OBVIOUSLY, and the fact that they're insecurities in the first place irritates me. Like girl, get the fuck up. I know societal pressure can be overwhelming, but I wouldn't change this iteration of me to comply with society. I guess I believe there is divinity attached to identity, like each of my features were given to me to exist on this planet as I am, a special place for me here on Earth. I can appreciate temporary superficial enhancements or decorations, but scorching my melanin off, hell no.

Again, semi-drunk rant. I just want to hear your thought vomits, too.

Sometimes I feel like people get mad at us black women for wanting someone the same level as us

I mean, a average white women can "date up" and she doesn't even have to be drop dead gorgeous.

Nobody is gonna complain about her having a type, wanting a handsome, successful or taller men.

She doesn't even have to be rich, successful, inteligent.

Now YOU, a BEAUTIFUL black women who went to the college, got a master's degree, have an successful career can't even want someone the same level as her.

And suddenly, we are "too picky"

we need to "lower our standards"

or "be humble"

It's like society want us to "date down" even when we are pretty or successful.

But a average white women can "date up" without all those things.

And we can see lots of that on football players/NBA players.

Most of them are black guys who date white women that wouldn't looks at them if they wasn't rich.

But a black women is not allowed to want a rich man too. We need to date black men when they are broke and losers.

social experiment of sorts/hopepill

this is highly unethical and it contradicts with my true beleifs, hence why i dont do this anymore. but a while back maybe a year ago, i created maybe two hinge and tinder accounts posing as very attractive black women just to see if maybe just maybe if i was beautifull, guys would treat me like another pretty girl. the results of my experiment were overall positive and honestly hopecore, i did this for maybe a week and i got 99+ likes the same day i made my catfish account i kid you not. besides matches and likes, about 5 of the guys that i spoke with took a great intrest in ''me'' and said they were looking for something serious and were trying to schedule a date with ''me'' it felt nice even though it wasnt truly me being sought after. i think its also important to mention that i only matched with guys who i genuinley found attractive physically and based on their bio. this contradicts with my morals though because i eventually blocked all the guys even the ones that i really connected with and deleted the account, so its kinda fucked up. i dotn recoomend you to do this!! even if it gives you hope, it will also make you feel very guilty and dirty

People thinking if black girls are pretty its because they dont look black

people will say a black woman has "euro centric" features because she has a smaller nose, i genuinely dont know why people love to say that i genuinely just believe its negging to put down these women trying to act like black features and attractiveness are mutually exclusive because no body and i mean no body would call a white women with big lips "afro centric" looking because her lips are big but ppl are so quick to say that a black woman looks basically white because her nose is smaller.I remember when people tried to say Anok Yai had eurocentric features, its absolute ridiculousnes because her nose its quite bulbous but very proportionate to her face. And dont get me started on Teeniesha, where people were trying to claim shes blasian simply because shes pretty and cute looking as a black woman. Im so tired of pretty black girls being perceived as pretty in spite of their blackness or theyre some sort of one in a billion or they must be mixed, because i feel like both black and non black people contribute to it. Its so fake and back handed, honestly in general im tired of people especially non black people(men) percieving black girls and because they are so used to just insulting us and calling us ugly and saying would never date one(many times unprovoked), when they see an attractive black women they genuinely just dont know how to act. It can never just stop at "shes so pretty!" it always has to be some shit like "wow i think black girls are ugly but this one actually looks good, is she mixed?"

all my sympathy is gone

I think this has already been established on here, but i hate incels because they pretend that they're DESPERATE for ANY girl thats their loksmatch. but even if a girl is pretty or nice or socially ''femenine'' as long as shes not east asian or white or latina. they block! or act as if dark skinned south asian girls and black girls are far too below them to even consider as a dating option. there have been neumerous times where i text a guy online and we have a good conversation and then it gets a bit flirty. so then ill ask what their type is and they say what most men say ''it doesnt matter what you look like, i value honesty and morals blah blah'' so then i have to ask something more... blunt. i ask do you like black girls and theyll say ''ive never done it'' or literally just block me. ocassionally it will be a drawn out talking stage and then they eventually block me.
