Cancelling Brightspeed account
I'm getting ready to cancel my Brightspeed account. I've heard from various sources that this can be frustrating. Does anyone have any helpful tips about it? Thanks.

First they couldn’t finish install (was working fine, kept checking for my bill, never showed up, was something on their end) so they just cancelled the account. That required making a new account, and waiting for a new router (a week without internet).
Not even a whole month later, I find out they never buried the line, so it was severed by the mowing company my apt hires. No tech available for 5 more days.
I gotta say, I was never a fan of Xfinity, but they seemed to have their shit together. This is fucking rough.
Just had Brightspeed installed last Tuesday here in the Humble area. First they needed permission to get in the neighbor's yard and then they leave me the cables outside exposed on the lawn and driveway of my neighbors. I let them know that needs to be buried ASAP before someone cuts it and they say a ticket has already been made but they have a 14 day window to get it done. I wake up today and sure enough the exposed cable has been cut. This is so irresponsible of Brightspeed to leave their cables exposed like this. And now I can't even do remote work until they come look at it tomorrow but they can't bury tomorrow yet. I had Xfinity before but their service was always having outages and just sucked in general and that's why I decided to look for other options.
I've had 3 install dates schedule that they never showed up for over the years. They've literally knocked on my door to offer their service. A fourth date was supposed to happen "after permits were approved" and they never scheduled it.
I've tried so hard to be a customer and at his point I'm just over it. If it's this hard to be a new customer, I can't imagine how bad it is once I'm there.
They need to pay for back up internet with a different provider.
I've experienced an outage April, May, and Jun. I should've stuck work DSL 🚮
Tney used buried fiber that has a wire. that wire acts like an antenna.
I am likely going to cut it off or add a ferrite to it.
they probably also obliterated channel 6 VHF but that signal was 1 db away from decoding anyway
They are trenching in new lines and boxes down our road this week and I spoke to the guys and they said they should be done laying by end of next week. How long have others had to wait from new lines trenching into the service area and Brightspeed hitting up residents to switch (from Spectrum in my case)?
I am super eager because when I bought my house last December Brightspeed originally told me they serviced my area. They kept pushing off setting an install date so after I closed I got an escalation number that told me that despite their computer showing me as serviced, I was not yet. :(
