A Tiny Sign of Hope for WTC Fans

After years of waiting for any sign of progress on Ciconia, this post gave me a tiny bit of hope.

Ryukishi just returned to Japan after his trip to Poland and mentioned that he's going to focus on writing again.

Of course, he didn't specifically mention Ciconia, and it could be any of his projects, maybe the new higurashi anime. But it's hard not to get excited whenever he talks about writing, that it could be Ciconia.

We've been stuck at Phase 1 for so long that even the smallest hint feels huge.

Maybe I'm just coping, but I'd love to believe that somewhere on his desk right now, Phase 2 is slowly taking shape.

The day Ryukishi finally continues Ciconia is going to be absolute chaos for the entire When They Cry community.

My theory about LD-3105 | Lambdadelta | Satoko

I've been thinking about Eua calling Satoko "Anomalous Spinal Cord Specimen LD-3105" and I ended up with a theory that connects Higurashi, Umineko and Ciconia.

We know several things:

\-Hanyuu belongs to a non-human alien species (Ryuun)

\-Hanyuu possesses powers related to fragments and worlds.

\-Rika gains the ability to loop through Hanyuu.

\-Eua calls Satoko "LD-3105"

\-Satoko develops fragment-traversing abilities similar to Rika's.

\-Satoko's behavior in Gou/Sotsu increasingly resembles what we know about Lambdadelta.

Most discussions focus on the possibility that LD stands for Lambda Delta and that 3105 can be read as "Sa-To-Ko." But I think LD-3105 is more than just a nickname. I think LD-3105 is an exact description. Eua did not give Satoko new powers, she was helping Satoko to remember her powers. She recognized LD-3105 and restored powers that had been dormant for a very long time.

My theory is that humans discovered members of Hanyuu's species long, long ago and began to experimenting on them in order to obtain their fragment-related powers.

The ability to move through fragments is arguably the most powerful ability in the entire When They Cry universe. If humans became aware of such a power, it would make sense for them to try to replicate it.

This could have resulted in a project called LD.

LD-3105 may have been one of the successful test subjects.

Instead of being born with the ability to traverse fragments, LD-3105 would be an artificial fragment traveler created through experimentation involving either Hanyuu's species or fragment-related technology.

This would explain why Eua refers to Satoko using a designation rather than a personal name.

From Eua's perspective, Satoko might not simply be Satoko. She might be recognizing a specific existence that has appeared before. A being known as LD-3105.

The really interesting part comes when looking at Lambdadelta.

Many fans believe Satoko eventually becomes Lambdadelta in some form. While this has never been explicitly confirmed, Gou and Sotsu create numerous parallels between them.

If LD-3105 is Satoko's true designation, then perhaps the progression looks something like this:

LD-3105 →Satoko→ Lambdadelta

Satoko would be the human identity.

LD-3105 would be the experimental or original designation.

Lambdadelta would be the final meta-world existence created after countless fragment journeys.

This could also explain why Lambdadelta seems so obsessed with certainty.

Imagine being an artificial fragment traveler forced to repeat experiments, loops, and worlds over and over until success becomes inevitable.

Eventually, certainty itself would become your defining principle.

It could explain why Eua immediately recognizes Satoko and addresses her in such a strange way.

If Satoko were merely a random girl from Hinamizawa, there would be little reason to call her "Anomalous Spinal Cord Specimen LD-3105"

But if Satoko is the latest manifestation of a much older existence, Eua's behavior suddenly makes a lot more sense.

An even crazier possibility is that Hanyuu's species, fragment travel, Bernkastel, Lambdadelta, and the mysterious references found throughout the When They Cry series all originate from the same ancient experiment.

In that scenario, Higurashi would not be the beginning of the story.

It would merely be one chapter in a much larger narrative that spans multiple universes and multiple ages of history.

What do you think about this theory?

Any theories on this scene?

I've read a lot of Ciconia theories, but none of them (at least, from the ones I've read) have an explanation for this very last scene, with Jayden.

Why does he have MIYAO's blue body (that we also saw on the soldier girls in Vier's lab)? Is he actually a CPP? Jayden has said he isn't one, but maybe that's not true?

Also, the dialogue in this scene. I can't really parse it.

Hey, Miyao. This is the world you wished for, right...? Why are you refusing it...?

''I promised, right? That I'd go anywhere if it was with you.''
''Let's go. Together.''

Very ominous. It's honestly been the main mystery that's been stuck in my mind ever since finishing Ciconia back then.
