there are people out there fighting for our rights. and many of us are still sitting in their house. students are forced to stay quiet by their own family and society. they dont see how much vital issue this is. but its not family's fault. seeing how police is handling such issues, how can a parent let there kids to go to protest and raise their voice. many voices are still buried inside their house. and i wont lie , i am one of them too. i cant go to delhi to join the protest and i am really guilty for it but i will support CJP through posts and media. i will raise my voice through my articles. me and my friends have suffered so much because of OSM checking, NEET Paper leaks. i have seen my friend crying until she got sick because of her marks. we dont deserve it. to all the people out there fighting for us. i am so proud of you, please keep going.

Critics count roughly 7 paper-leak scandals under India's Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan. So by that same logic — isn't it his turn to retire too?
Or put it another way: if your house plumber caused 7 leaks, you wouldn't praise his "experience." You'd fire him. Somehow the minister overseeing India's biggest exam gets to keep his job after leak number 7.
Okay, actual recap for the international crowd: 2.3 million Indian teenagers sat NEET-UG on May 3, 2026 — the single exam that decides who gets to become a doctor in India. Nine days later, the National Testing Agency cancelled it. The paper had leaked. Impressive detective work for an agency that usually takes years to notice anything.
A retest got scheduled for June 21. Problem identified, retest booked, crisis "managed." Great.
Except in the 37 days between cancellation and retest, at least 12 NEET aspirants died by suicide — tracked individually by multiple independent outlets, because apparently no single agency was going to bother. Several left no note. Families who'd taken out loans for a shot at one exam watched it collapse and were told: try again, same broken system, no changes, good luck.
This is not NEET's first scandal either — that's the part that should actually worry you. 2024 protests, early 2026 protests over a student's death, and now this. At some point "irregularity" isn't the right word for something this predictable and this repetitive under one minister's watch.
Reporters Without Borders ranks India 157th of 180 on press freedom — below several active war zones — which might explain why a dozen dead teenagers hasn't dominated domestic headlines the way it should. A lot of outlets aren't missing this story. They're choosing not to cover it.
Pradhan's response to the students protesting his leak-heavy tenure? Calling them a "B-team of terror groups" on television. That line is either going to age as prophecy or as the exact quote historians use to summarize how this government treated grieving kids.
Sonam Wangchuk — yes, the engineer whose real work inspired a character in 3 Idiots — has been on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar since June 28, demanding accountability. He's past 19 days, seriously deteriorating. Opposition leaders across the political spectrum are publicly begging him to stop before it kills him, while backing the exact demand he's starving over. A fellow hunger-striker has already fainted and been hospitalized.
We've been here before: in 2018, an 86-year-old IIT professor fasted 111 days over the Ganga and died two days after refusing even water. The institutional lesson wasn't "listen sooner" — it was "wait longer before calling the ambulance next time."
There's also a satire party, founded as a joke about a judge comparing unemployed youth to cockroaches, that now has 350,000 sign-ups and 20 million followers and functions as more organized opposition than anyone in the actual opposition.
And in Bundelkhand, thousands of villagers are staging mock funeral pyres over a dam project, because apparently the real thing is the only language that gets a government response.
None of this needed exaggeration. A dozen dead teenagers, a minister with a leak count that would get any actual tradesman fired, and a 2018 precedent make the point without help. So here's the only question worth asking: what does it actually take for this government — and this minister specifically — to act before the body count, instead of after?

Abhijeet, instead of demanding the Education Minister’s resignation, ask the government to appoint someone new with the potential to become the finest Education Minister India has seen since Independence. This could offer both sides a dignified and constructive way forward.
Accountability for leaks in exams like NEET is essential. But changing one minister alone will not address education’s deeper structural challenges. The value lies in choosing someone ready to lead long-term reform.
AI presents an existential challenge. What students need to learn today must be planned by anticipating what an AI-driven world will look like five to ten years from now. I could go on and on, but many readers understand the danger. Our education system is in a code-red situation.
We need a visionary, tech-savvy Education Minister who understands AI, knows our education system inside out, and is genuinely passionate about transforming it. I am certain our system has many forward-looking senior civil servants, perhaps in their 40s or 50s, with deep experience in education, one of whom could be entrusted with this responsibility.
Without urgent action, our main resource, our human resource, could become a burden instead of an advantage.
This could be a win for both the BJP and CJP. Yes, BOTH. Education reform should not become another political contest. A constructive solution would be a victory for students, families, the government, and CJP.
I urge both sides to think seriously about it.
Please reconsider the demand for ₹1 crore for families of students who lost their lives following the exam leak.
For over five years, I have helped families escape loan traps linked to edtech companies, I know its a serious issue. Please keep asking the government to support grieving families in debt.
But read about Suraj Bhaskar. His story is a painful reminder of how intense examination pressure and concern for one’s family can overwhelm a vulnerable young person. The desperation to clear NEET, IIT-JEE, UPSC, and other exams can be beyond comprehension.
Such compensation could unintentionally create a dangerous incentive for vulnerable students. Unverified reports of paper leaks can spread rapidly through small WhatsApp and Telegram groups after major exams. Such rumours could push some children towards an irreversible step, believing the compensation would support their families.
I know this sounds dark, but I say it from experience.
Please discuss these ideas with Mr Sonam Wangchuk and your team. After he called for a one-day fast, I fasted for two and a half days, and it was not easy. We are concerned about his health and well-being.
Let us try to reach a consensus, something the two sides rarely achieve in India.

Like many others, I've been following Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike with growing concern.
Whether or not you agree with every one of his demands, I think we can agree on one thing: no democracy should allow a peaceful protest to end in irreversible harm before meaningful dialogue begins.
A conversation costs far less than a life.
I'm not posting this to argue politics or ask people to pick sides. I'm posting because I don't want to wake up to headlines that say we waited too long.
