Water bottle caps to take with you

If you're like me and only drink water on the premises, bring the following caps with you to seal your water bottle:

- Spa rood cap (the generic one that fits a lot of bottles)

- Earth Water (this one got me last year on Friday, went to Jumbo and found one on Saturday)

But I figured out on Saturday that I've could just order a Spa rood and be done with it... Anyways, any more tips, welcome!

After parties recommendations

Hi! Does anyone know any good after parties for the festival this year?
Is going to be my first time, so I don’t really know much about pricing, or time, or distance, or anything.

What after parties are the best ones? Is it worth it considering that we already have a festival during the day?
I’m very down to party as much possible haha so to me it would probably be worth it haha

Stoor x Dekmantel on thursday

Hi! I’ll be attending the Dekmantel festival this year, and I’m gonna work as a volunteer on all the 3 days.

Because of that, I got very interested on the Stoor x Dekmantel event that’s happening on thursday. Because during the festival I might not be able to enjoy it fully since i’ll be working.

Does anyone know the party? Is it worth it? (cuz is lowkey expensive €50,00)

If anyone has information about the size of the event, or the music style, etc etc. Or, if anyone else is thinking about going, feel free to reach out to me on my ig @666tathi !!

Saturday Recommendations

First time at Dekmantel this year and have got tickets for the Saturday. Don’t know too many of the artists so looking forward to discovering something new!

Any recommendations would be amazing so we can check out before we go. Also if any stages tend to have a specific genre or is it totally dependent on who’s playing? Thanks!!

Food Highlights of the Festival

Hi All!

I'm returning to Bos for the first time since 2019 and plan on doing way more eating this time round. I was wondering what everyone's food Highlights are? And are there also different bars or do they all stock the same stuff? I'd love some good wine too.

Thank you, see you all at the end of the month x

Accomodation - how late is too late to book

Hey everyone so excited to make my dekmantel attendee debut! Going solo, but havent organised accomodation yet. Have i left it too late already? im not too fussy as long as its accessible to the Bos via bike. Any reccomendations you guys have for solo dekmantel accomodation would be appreicated as well. Seems like there is no 'one place' that all festival goers say, and instead are spread across the city?

Bike parking safety at Dekmantel

Hey! I’ll be bikepacking before and after the festival, so I’ll have my nice gravel bike with me. Part of me really wants to ride to Dekmantel for the full Dutch experience, but I’m a bit nervous about leaving it there.

How safe is the bike parking at the festival? Is it a dedicated bike parking area just for attendees, or is it more of a public bike rack?

I already bought a bus ticket, but I’d much rather ride if it’s reasonably safe. Would you just use a couple of good locks and not worry too much, or would you play it safe and take the bus instead?

Curious to hear what people who’ve been before would recommend!

Looking to rent a tent

Yo! Me and my two friends are going to Dekmantel this summer and unfortunately we won't be able to bring a tent from Sweden (where we come from), but we'd like to stay at the festival area. Is there anybody who has a two/three man tent that we could borrow/rent for three days? Any info would be appreciated! Thank you!

Non tourist-looking bike rentals for Dekmantel

The past couple of years we've been to Dekmantel (from UK originally) we've hired bikes for getting around the city and to the festival etc as we usually stay a little longer than the festival.

This is of course really fun and affordable and the most efficient way to get around but when we were at the festival the last time we made friends with some locals and they told us they instantly knew we were tourist bc of the bikes we had (cringing).

I want to avoid this going forward – can any Amsterdam locals advise me on bike rentals that rent attractive looking bikes / bike rentals that locals use?

Thanks !!

Dekmantel App

Hi everyone! I made a free app for people going to Dekmantel:

http://dekmantel.hackjournalism.com

It started with me simply wanting to make it easy for myself to search the artists playing at the festival. Then things got out of hand.

You can filter artists based on their genres and biographies. But there’s also a ‘vibe’ search, where you say something like ‘I want to dance until I can’t feel my legs’ or ‘I am a robot from the year 3000 give me something only I can understand’, and it will show you some appropriate acts.

There’s a schedule section, where you can note who you want to see each day across all the stages. It’ll warn you if you have clashes, and it’ll tell you when it’s time to head over to that stage.

The app will even generate a schedule for you if you answer a few questions: your mother’s maiden name, passport number… JUST KIDDING! The questions are all about your music and time preferences.

Also you can share your schedule with others, because buddies.

One way to share it is clicking ‘share schedule’ in the little menu in the top right corner. It’ll give you your own custom collage with your acts listed on it, which you can post to Instagram or wherever.

I designed this for mobile. If you have an iPhone, add it as a web app by navigating to the site, then tapping the iOS 'Share' button at the bottom. Tap 'view more' or scroll down, and hit 'Add to Home Screen'.

Once Dekmantel releases a map of the festival grounds, I’ll add an interactive map to this app. It’ll have pins showing where all the important stuff is. People can add their own pins and share comments and photos from each of those locations: the menu at a food stall, a delightful art installation, the absolute scenes near the stage, and which bathrooms require hazmat suits.

I was in two minds about including photos, but I decided to go for it. So unless they’re served at a food stand, please keep your wieners to yourself on my app.

If you find any bugs or have any suggestions for improvements, let me know. I might thank you profusely or completely ignore you, we’ll see.

I’ll be at Dekmantel from the Wednesday. My Instagram is linked on the front page of the app, so look me up and come find me there! My PayPal is also linked, in case you want to buy me a beer.

This is not affiliated with Dekmantel, or my day job. Just a bit of fun.

Downloadable Timetable in Google Sheets

If you’re a nerd like me and need a schedule you can customize, I created a sheet with the timetable you can copy.

Enjoy!
