Oshkosh online prep event fly-in with the real ATC (7/10-7/12)

Just saw this in the EAA ehotline email from last week.
Next weekend (7/10-7/12) you can use MSFS or X-plane flight simulators and fly the Fisk arrival with the real Oshkosh controllers. I guess the controllers use it as a warm up like we do!
Awesome for proficiency and it’s FREE!

Best day to go to EAA this year?

I've never been and am planning to drive up from Madison for one of the days. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good day to go? I'm also wondering how much time to leave for travel with traffic. Any advice for a noob appreciated!

Family for Oshkosh

We have a 2 year old who went to Oshkosh last year and a 2 month old and we’re debating if it’s a safe/good idea to take our 2 month old. We would have to fly across the country to get there. Nervous about germs from the airport and then the heat at Oshkosh. Does anyone have any thoughts to help us decide? Thank you!

Camping at Oshkosh with a 1 y/o?

First time going to Oshkosh (driving in) and first time camping as well. With a 1 year old none the less.

From what I’ve gathered we can pay for a camping site when we get there, first come first serve and I believe drive our car to the site? I’ve heard Thursday has more open spots with people leaving after the night show.

Has anyone done this with a baby? Reading all the comments about drinking water nonstop and seeking AC whenever possible and carefully packing coolers, I’m starting to worry our little guy won’t be able to handle the heat nonstop for 2 days or possibly 3.

Do most people just cook on a little camping grill or just buy food at the airshow? We plan on bringing a few coolers, pack n play, shower shoes and tote, towels, sunscreen, backpacks, and a large wagon (can this fit on the shuttle?)

If anyone’s done this with little ones I really appreciate the advice! We have a hotel reserved in Madison in case we decide this camping thing won’t work with him being soo young.
