PSA: Torbox banned me, stole 4+ years worth of time.
TL;DR
I made a mild joke about Torbox servers crashing in a completely unrelated, third-party Discord server (third party server - edited at the request of the owner). Torbox staff ("Mike") permanently banned me with zero warning, and wiped out over 4 years of accumulated Pro plan time from referrals (worth over $460 USD). Support has since ignored or blocked me.
Details
I’ve been a huge advocate for Torbox since the first major migration of RD users to TB. I vouched (shilled, dw wasn't on Reddit lol) for the company and built up a huge amount of referral time on my account. My Pro plan was set to expire on July 31, 2030.
Old picture because I can't log in anymore, read below
Yesterday, (May 15, 2026 for the Reddit detectives that wanna double check themselves) I was in the [third party server - edited at the request of the owner] discord server (unrelated to Torbox). Torbox staff member named "treurnicht" (Discord username, later found out it was "Mike") was there too. He is actually the same guy who initially upgraded my Essential monthly plan to Pro annual plan with the Black Friday discount (I had used TB for about 6 months or so but wanted to support them at the Pro level).
Now for those that are new to this, the TB staff are pretty well known to engage with the community in a light-hearted, joking way, they talk smack and the community talks smack - legit has always been fun and games. For reference, this has been going on since I joined back in 2024, like I said, I'm an old member of the Discord and user of TB.
Someone mentioned Offcloud was using Premiumize cache and I suggested it might be worth trying if that was the case.
treurnicht said "100% everyone should use them."
I jokingly said: "Shouldn't you be making sure TB doesn't keep crashing repeatedly?" (As everyone knows TB is getting a massive surge of users)
His immediate response was: "1s", "done", "your refund will be with you shortly."

That was it. No warning, no further explanation, nothing. We all laughed, thought he was joking. He wasn't.
My entire account was completely cancelled, and I was banned from Torbox entirely.
I even went back and double checked the rules, like maybe somehow I had done something without me knowing? I explicitly checked what Mike's take on the rules were regarding their ban policy. He has publicly stated that the only way to get banned is "reselling or having a foul soul."
Mike's Rules
Obviously, I wasn't reselling. I'd be the dumbest reseller on the planet if I was referring people to TB for 14 days of free service each (this is what the referral program was before it was changed) instead of reselling the service. I probably referred around 100 individual users to the service to rack up over four years of service.
And I would hardly call a mild joke about server uptime in a completely separate Discord server a "foul soul" level offense.
Even others were taken aback. I'll post those comment screenshots below because there's a limit of how many photos I can include in a post.
Even the Torbox server moderator thought Mike was joking.
Torbox Moderator's Comments
Here's how much they basically stole in free labour at this point: I had service until about July 31, 2030. From today’s date, that is roughly 1538 days of Pro time. At the Pro plan rate of $110/year, that accumulated referral time was worth over $460 USD.
I received a refund of about $50 with the reason for the cancellation as "refund initiated by cancel subscription" which is obviously not true.
So what did I do? Well like I said at first we all thought it was a joke, again for the uninitiated, TB staff routinely do some funny af shit. So it made sense that making it convincing was what was going on. Like I mentioned, even the Torbox Discord moderator thought this was all a joke.
I tried to DM Mike on Discord, he blocked me. I thought, "Okay haha very funny Mike. You got me."
Then I messaged Wamy and Midnight, telling them I was a bit confused as to what was going on. At this point I was.
I submitted a ticket to the website through my account. Instantly banned. No response received. I could no longer log in.
Email Ticket
Banned Immediately
Eventually, Midnight messaged me back with a rather unhelpful response, "Nothing I can do. Open a ticket." I explained I couldn't even get back into the website and I had already made a ticket which resulted in me being banned.
Midnight's Response (Torbox Developer)
Zero response or acknowledgement from the owner of Torbox, Wamy at all.
Wamy's No-Response (Torbox Owner)
We're now coming up to 24 hours since this whole thing happened. I still can't log in, I have no Torbox service.
This entire scenario has left me completely dumbfounded. Not only is a mild joke about server stability absolutely not a warnable offense, but to instantly nuke an account with over 4 years of earned referral time, and over a comment made in an entirely separate Discord server, is exceptional.
If an organization can arbitrarily ban you for nothing, ignore their own stated rules, police what you say in third-party communities, and wipe out hundreds of dollars of account value on a whim, everyone should seriously think twice before subscribing.
I clearly vouched for this service, was part of the community for years. I'm not angry or sad, but I am severely disappointed. It's like being backstabbed by a homie.
UPDATE
My account was reinstated, the full accumulated time was also added back AND they gave me a goodwill gesture of additional compensation for the whole ordeal. One person's bad day doesn't soil a good service overall. At the end of the day, I don't harbour any negativity towards Torbox.
