Can't craft heavy shells

Have a heavy shotgun but cannot craft the ammo and game says I am not yet qualified. It requires gun nut 1 and I am lvl 4. Any ideas?

I can't level up, does anyone know any fixes for this bug? Still early-ish game and first time playing since V1.02 update.

So, a bit of context...

I started playing on launch, pretty much buying a PC to play this game. I've always been a console player primarily so don't know some of the more basic things like how to spawn items or other console commands.

Anyway, I got heavily into other games while a friend was living with me and I didn't have my computer in front of me every day. I recently got the urge to play, fired up my machine, updated my game files, then went to play. It took me a while to figure out what I was doing in-game but I was about to go against Robo-Margo in Poplar DLR when I saved. Anyway, when I went to level up this is the screen I was greeted by. I tried to get a screenshot but both the PrtScr key and holding Win+Shift+S just took me back to my desktop screen without closing the game or making a screenshot (hence the photo).

I had to restart the computer and it needed to update (which it didn't until I updated FOLON), so I repeated the boss fight, got the XP to level up and then had this screen again.

Only mod I'm running besides the overhaul is the one that stopped it breaking the game when changing maps.

Would really appreciate your help in identifying the cause and solving this issue so I can cross the damn Thames and not get destroyed in the process. Then I can Mind The Gap like the rest of ya again!!!

Settlers not at their work stations

I've started my 2nd playthrough and that issue is recurring: I assign settlers to a shop, but they're never there. Farm workers are fine, shops though are empty

It's not a deal breaker for me, and frankly the game works considerably better than the first time, but it is a bit annoying, so I was wondering whether there is a fix for it?

Is there a method to continue playing after main quest just like vanilla fo4?

I haven't beat the game yet but I heard that the FOLON would kick you back to main menu after the ending just like the old fallout games. Is there a mod or a patch to continue my save after main quest just like fo4? I don't want to keep a unfinished main quest ending in my quest list. I just want to hide in Westminster as a normal hermit-like person after saving London lol.

Switching between Fallout London and Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition

Ingredients: Fallout 4 on Gog and Steam and Fallout London as a mod and two user accounts on your PC

  1. Install Fallout 4 from Gog or Steam and get Fallout London Running as a mod. I used the Gog version as it's pre-downgraded to 10.163.
  2. Make a new user account on your PC, or switch user accounts, and install the Steam version of Fallout 4 11.191 someplace else.
  3. Rename the 11.191 Folder to something other than what it is.
  4. Go to original user account.
  5. Copy and place the entire 11.191 folder next to the 10.163 folder so you have two folders, Fallout 4, and blahblah.
  6. Open Vortex and purge mods from your FOLON install.
  7. Make a new profile in Vortex (or MO2 nerd) and make sure it has its own saves, etc.
  8. Close Vortex.
  9. Rename Fallout 4 folder to blah and blahblah to Fallout 4.
  10. Open Vortex. It may freak out, relax guy. Worst case it may forget where Fallout is, but you can remind it.
  11. Install F4SE. Fallout London has it included so if you installed it as a mod, you won't install it separately. But this profile will need it since Fallout London the mod is disabled.
  12. Enable the mods from your FOLON install that are compatible  (and you want them ) with 11.191. Mods that need different versions can easily be set to activate the correct version with the correct profile.
  13. Install any other mods.

Reversing:

  1. Purge mods, switch profiles, close Vortex.
  2. Rename Fallout 4 folder to blahblah and blah to Fallout 4.
  3. Open Vortex.
  4. Play.

TLDR. Make an exact copy of each install and just switch folder names and profiles - no need to mess with renaming the files themselves or getting base Fallout 4 version BA2 differences mixing in the same install.

FO4 10.163 and 11.191 Swapping

Gonna try it, GOG version. But all the tutorials are for downgrading, and steam. I have FOLON running, I want to put 191 next to it. After reading a bunch about bat file renaming.. what if I just had 191 in a folder next to 163 and just bat changed the names of the folders, rather than individual files? And then of course changed profiles in Vortex. I feel like downgrading just 3 files with the existing patcher (which seems to be for steam?) skips over the big depot dumps I had to download when I first downgraded the slow way - like there's more than 3 files difference between the versions, not to mention the cc content that would be sitting around if I did what the existing tutorials say. Thoughts? Experiences?

EDIT: it works I made a guide https://youtu.be/k_rxnQLWzzg

St Thomas Hospital question

Ok, explored this St Thomas Hospital. However there seems to be more I cant reach. An elevator locked "this is opened elsewhere". Earlier I swiped an ID card near the bottom (I don't know which one, I did not pick any up inside) and I heard "going down" At the top I can't open. There seem to be more enemies somewhere but I'm

I'm giving up for now. But... Is there a key or a terminal I didn't find?

Art Damage Radio London Mod Showcase

If you want some weird new stuff for exploring. This might be for you. In beta, but just final testing of song randomness.

Based on a radio show that aired on WAIF 88.3 Cincinnati (Ohio) from around 1985 - 2010 that featured noise and experimental music. It features 50 original tracks recorded between 2003 and 2026 by The Wild Gunmen, Nono San Pedro, Dick Fitts, Terry Childers (Trash Bot), Death Beam, and Roesing Ape, with guest vocals/lyrics by Scabs McHavok and Nik Soluski. The setting is hosted by Pot n' Piss, a pair of mutated scallywags who stumbled into an abandoned radio station in an underground tube. Link in comments, on Nexus.

Professional Relapse is an awful quest

I have never before seen a quest where you get punished for exploring dialogue options. Without getting into spoilers, it's very easy to accidentally lock yourself out of a solution by just trying to talk it out with one guy. And you fail the quest for simply relaying the information one person said to another. Horrible quest design.

I finally found a location that speaks to me. And I need more.

So, as relatively complex as Fallout games usually are, and, despite the general idea, things aren't always doom and gloom, I really prefer to explore the darker, deeper parts of any FO game (usually vaults with some unsettling backstories that you discover in the process of exploring them, sewers, metro tunnels and such). In other words, something with survival horror vibes, especially if I can take my time there.

In FoLON I discovered Greenwich Crematorium a while ago, but I'd never entered it before, because I thought that, surely, such a place must be related to some quest. But, since, so far, I haven't gotten any quest for it, my curiosity got the better of me. I strongly prefer that side of Thames for quite a few reasons, and I think it's one of a few places I never explored there, though I don't claim I've discovered everything.

And, oh my God, the crematorium is the darkest, most atmospheric place in the game. It's just different. The journal adds to the experience. And even the music is unique there, which is refreshing. The layout and the fact that you don't expect it to go so deep is also very interesting to me. Not even Bethlem or the location where you find Mittenlurk Queen gave me such a thrill, even though I enjoyed them as well.

I definitely wouldn't mind more. If anybody has any recommendations for similar places or anything that comes close in terms of atmosphere, please, let me know.

Also, feel free to share your experience with locations that make your hair stand on end.

Is there a better way to find Fallout London Static Object ids than combing through the mod files in FO4edit?

I’m trying to decorate my house with static objects.

should I keep rocking survival mode

To be completely honest, I both love and dislike survival mode at once. The fact you can't see your *level* for dehydration, or food, or tiredeness is part of that, but also yeah it makes the game hardcore; a single randomly placed headshot from a random bot will kill you. It definitely adds more of the vibe I always wanted from fallout to the game, but it doesn't make sense that I can shoot a hooligan three times in the head with the same gun he has and then he just kills me with one shot. I think "survival" mode in games needs to not just "make it harder" but extend realism, if I shoot a hooligan in the head and they take a bit of damage and shoot me in the head right after and kill me from full health, that's not good balancing. Curious to hear what people have to say about enemy balancing here.

Is there a better armor setup?

Hi! I trying to find a better armor for myself to boost my physical protection. Right now I wear:

  1. Cavalry Elite Uniform (Clean and ballistic weave)
  2. Mountbatten's Hat (Ballistic weave)
  3. Heavy riot police chest peace (Max upgrade, asbestos lining)
  4. Heavy metal arms and legs armor (Max upgrade, for some reason they provide better physical armor then heavy riot variant, with the exception of chest peace)
  5. Apache Knee Pad (+1 physical armor)
  6. Apache Gloves (+1 physical armor)
  7. Camo Cape (+5 physical armor)
  8. Expired Combat Rebreather (+6 physical armor)
  9. Jagimet Shoulders (+5 physical and energy armor)

In total I get 450 physical and 392 energy protection.

Is there any other armor that can provide better protection? Or it's maximum (besides raider power armor MK2) that I can get?

Update: Thanks for all your tips! I swap some peaces and end up with this:

  1. I swap Heavy metal arms and Heavy riot police chest peace to a Greaser Jacket Coat (ballistic weave)
  2. Swapped Camo Cape for a Greaser Jacket vest (ballistic weave)
  3. Swapped Expired Combat Rebreather for Enchantress Shawl (ballistic weave)
  4. Added white mask (+1 physical armor, although it's should give 17, but it's bugged)

In the end I managed to get 665 physical and 629 energy defense!

Stuck on Angel Arc

Hey fellow Wayfarers, any help you can provide would be appreciated. I have reached the point of the Angel arc where the quests are to kill Eve and Arthur. However, nothing I do will trigger the quests to progress. I've went to the underground bar and talked to the barkeep - nothing. Went to Camelot - nothing. Other threads on reddit identify the same issue, but they are very old now, so I thought I would inquire if there is a solution now. I really don’t want to use a console command if possible. Thank you in advance!
