Fallout 4 update
I see my fallout 4 just updated, I unfortunately did not turn on the setting to disable steam updates. Is my fallout london installation going to be borked after this? Anyone know if there is a way to keep my save data?

Hello everyone,
Just a quick message to announce that I've updated my "Universal Downgrader" (old thread here) to work with today's Steam update of Fallout 4 (v1.11.221).
The new version can downgrade to 4 previous versions.
As before, it is :
Here's a little screenshot.
If you didn't use the previous version, don't worry it's very easy to use
Of cource, the installer is still open source (code here and compiled directly on Github Actions). I've also use my previous Powershell scripts (code here) to make these xdelta patches quickly ;)
Constructive feedbacks and nice words are always welcome!
Hope it will help many people.

Do I have to roll back or something like that?
I just wish there was a quest or xp gain by finding them.
Every time I load into the game and click new the opening cutscene freezes and my entire PC is stuck I have to restart my pc I have tried everything I would really appreciate it if someone knows how to fix it
Sure this has been said before. I came across this mod when I watched MATN's playthrough of it awhile ago. Thought "this is interesting" and to be honest, vacillated on whether to try it out. After learning the process for doing it via Steam was a major pain in the butt, I came to the understanding that this was something I would just never get to play.
Then I came across a thread in the MATN community and someone suggesting just buying it on GOG. For 16 bucks, which is like, nothing, I said, eh whatever why not?
Been playing through so far and I really enjoy it. Just playing on normal now, want to get a sense of things and just enjoy the story before I consider going back and playing on a harder difficulty. Also, really trying not to look things up unless I get absolutely super stuck. I just found the boxer companion and was amazed I was able to get him on the first try. It's been a long time since I watched the MATN playthrough so while I am vaguely aware of some things, there's a lot I don't remember. Among all the things, I really, really appreciate the sense of choice that comes out in many of the quests.
Got this beauty today - absolutely one of my favorite things I own now. Loved it, can see even more how much yall invested into this project. So grateful for all of your hard work!
I love the inclusion of these three and I was so happy, that when they asked me if I could speak german, I could click "I already speak German." Because, I do ofc.
But they treated that as a lie. Which, I get, and I don't know if doing it very different would even be good. My character is a lab grown Londoner who never met Germans before, why would I speak german.
But then I thought more about it:
Why do I speak english actually? The Character can speak, read and understand english at a high level. But I wasn't cloned with memories or anything, so why can I and then - why can I not speak another Language?
So here's a suggestion and I understand if it's not universally liked:
If I say I can speak German already, they could ask me a phrase in German and I could answer, I even have suggestions for the speech tree there:
Otto: Sie sprechen Deutsch?
Player:
[Charisma 5]: Ja, ein Hot Dog
>> Gets a Laugh out of them and then resumes the quest giving dialog
[Quest: Lesson Plan]: Ich habe Karl Marx Gelesen.
>> Kant: Ökonomie und Philosophie, darüber Spreche ich viel zu wenig, gestatten Sie mir eine Frage über Ihre weitere Belesenheit zu diesen Fächern?
[Cherchez La Femme]: Ich mag Mädchen in Uniform.
>> Hans: Ich auch.
>> Otto: Wer nicht.
>> Kant: Ich verstehe nicht.
[Confirmed Bachelor]: Ich mag Männer in Uniform.
>> Hans: ...
>> Otto: ...
>> Kant: Ich auch.
[No Skill]: [remain silent]
>> The regular dialog about how I obviously don't understand them continues.
---
If the player gets the Intelligence 8, is gay or has finished the Quest Lesson Plan:
Vergehen sollt!
>> Kant: Sie Silberzungiger Teufel.
>> Hans: Zu lange habe ich nur diese beiden Gehabt.
>> Otto: Sie sprechen ein sehr schönes Deutsch.
I understand that's a lot, but the sexuality perks don't have a lot of dialog options in the game already, so I think this would give them a lot more meaning.
It might be very hard to then record all the rest of the dialog for the quests in German, but I think it would be great if this could skip the mission to get the voice module and instead Kant keeps speaking german with you.
It would also be a little bit funny, if this was used by someone who doesn't speak a lick of German but has a high intelligence Character or one of the Sexuality Persk and now they have to use a Translator on the second Monitor because they tried to fake it.
Now, I understand, this is Fallout London, not Fallout Germany, but I do still think this whole interaction could have a little bit more. I would love to hear more thoughts on this.
I also wondered, since the Three German men speak pretty good German, if the Quest is purposefully in such bad German as a joke or if this is an oversight, because I do not know.
Hey guys, absolutely love this game. Probably my favorite fallout. I’m playing on a 64GB ASUS ROG 16 laptop which is more than capable. I’ve played 250 hours on survival flawlessly. I haven’t had a single crash. Now however, it start crashing as I’m leaving Croydon. I reloaded an earlier save, tried again, and it worked, but I only got to Brickton and it’s starting to crash again! I’m scared since I’ve put so much time into it and since this is a new thing for this save. Very strange! Any advice?
EDIT 1: I’m reading online that there have been past reports of crashing in the Croydon/Brickton area. I didn’t see it being a major problem in this current build, but I’m going to try and get through it as fast as I can without it crashing and get out of the area. I haven’t pretty much finished that quest there. I just have to speak to Doyle, Roach, and the pox bulb “pharmacist” guy then I’ll be long gone!
EDIT 2: Fixed! I just lowered the difficulty so I could fast travel, then used a console command to re-activate survival mode. Killed the immersion for me for a while, but what can you do? 250 hours without a single crash I think knocks it out of the park for Fallout standards. Kudos to Team FOLON
Had this rug made for a friend's birthday present!
I really don’t understand the “just put it in the game folder” advice, it has never worked for me. I genuinely do need a really basic explanation. I’m trying to install mods within the mod fallout London. I’m using the one gog one click edition if that matters.
We'd love to know your thoughts! We're doing a bit of market research for our next potential future project, and part of that means understanding our own work better, especially through the eyes of the people who've played it.
We'd LOVE to hear about some of your favourite moments from our game:
Favourite Companion
Favourite Quest
Favourite Character
Favourite Interaction (a particular conversation, dialogue choice, exchange, moment, etc.)
But most importantly: tell us WHY!
What made that companion stick with you? Why did that quest stand out? What was it about that character or piece of dialogue that you still remember? Was it funny? Did it feel British?
You can respond here or on our discord, where there's a template ready to use in the new temporary ⚗️-research channel, so head over there and share as much or as little as you like.
We'd genuinely love to hear what resonated with you and why.

There's enough content for another massive deep dive series by him and it isn't like the actual fallout people are doing anything soon so why not?
i love mountbatten so much i always go above and beyond to complete his bucket list
Hi. For the past few months I’ve been attempting Fallout London under Permadeath rules (as soon as I die I restart the game) suffice it to say, it’s very very annoying. The furthest I’ve got is to level 31 to act 2 where you have to get the signatures. Got the Hackney one (that was surprisingly easy as I already had the stats and the ingredients to cure Pete peacefully with Manchester Mike- I even did it before I got to Islington lol) in my other play throughs I get to any level between 14-21 between crossing the Thames and going to the Isle of Dogs to talk to Lazarus. The things that always get me are mines or Naval Walkers or one shot kills from legendary enemies (super super frustrating) despite having sneak 3 and 6+ perception
My SPECIAL is 4,5,9,5,8,4,1 (I use the +7 points for Special mod because why not) then I take hoarder and gifted to up my carry weight and SPECIAL +1. I then spend the first 15-16 levels XP farming and clearing hostile NPCs in Bromley before completing the Lands of the Seraph quest. I usually farm XP in the Shard/London Bridge tutorial until level 3, then hanging with the Vagabonds and completing the DIY store quest and the 2 Syd quests, along with the radio/IODS spy quest. I then clear Bromley and sort out the Dryads at Biggin Hill, before finding the Thamesfolk and Archie- as well as completing a few side quests and clearing other groups of NPCs around the Greenwich/Bromely/Deptford area. I usually level up Rifleman and get locksmith 1 as the chest in the lorry by the Swan and Mitre has crude rifles you can mod with silencers and scopes to snipe. I usually use it on Jack Tars at the Naval Academy and Cutty Sark to get extra XP and clear the boat out for the Thames Folk. By level 16 I cross the Thames. But I always seem to come unstuck there; be it by Naval Walkers that come out of nowhere or an enemy setting off a mine near me (sneak 3 means I don’t set off mines)
Does anyone have any advice for Permadeath runs or has anyone tried it and succeeded? If so can you offer advice?
TL/DR- Been doing FOLON Permadeath, mainly XP farming and completing side quests, usually get taken out by mines and Naval Walkers. Can you offer advice on how to do it more effectively?
Fallout London is great, but Atom do they need to work on what loot is behind high level locks and doors
The amount of time ive opened an expert lock to get a silver spoon, or an advanced locked door to find literally nothing
Drives me nuts
