pen pal đź’Ś

looking for some wholesome internet friends/pen pals. 🫶🏼💌
i want to write letters, send cute stationery, decorate envelopes, swap little trinkets, stickers, bookmarks, pressed flowers, playlists, recipes, and random things that remind us of each other.
let’s try snacks from different places, do little craft exchanges, celebrate holidays with happy mail, recommend books, talk about life, healing, dreams, and everything in between.
if you’re a cozy soul who loves collecting tiny treasures, thrifting, journaling, crafts, reading, baking, nature walks, or just romanticizing life, i think we’d get along. ✨
bonus points if you’re the type to get way too excited over pretty paper, washi tape, and finding the perfect little gift for someone.
if this sounds like your kind of friendship, comment or message me. i’d love to make this a fun little community with lots of pen pals. 💌🤍📚🧸🕯️🍄

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal

Have you ever wished for a group of women who felt like old friends, even if you've never met? A place where stories, dreams, recipes, memories, sketches, poems, and pieces of your everyday life could be shared and treasured?

Welcome to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal.

We are creating a real-life journal that travels from sister to sister across the country. Each participant gets a turn with the journal, adding pages filled with whatever speaks to their heart before sending it along to the next member.

🌿 What can you add?

Journal entries

Letters to future readers

Poetry and short stories

Artwork and doodles

Photos and scrapbook pages

Family recipes

Favorite quotes

Spiritual reflections

Memories, dreams, and life lessons

đź“– How It Works

  1. Join the Sisterhood.

  2. Receive the journal in the mail.

  3. Spend 1–2 weeks adding your pages.

  4. Read the entries from the sisters before you.

  5. Mail it to the next participant.

  6. Follow its journey as it travels from home to home.

🌙 Our Goals

Build meaningful friendships.

Encourage creativity and self-expression.

Create a keepsake filled with the voices of women from different walks of life.

Slow down and reconnect in a world that moves too fast.

đź’• Who Can Join? Women 18+ from all backgrounds are welcome. Writers, artists, mothers, students, grandmothers, witches, bookworms, dreamers, and anyone who loves the magic of handwritten words. Us only right now.

Sisterhood Guidelines

Be kind and respectful.

No hate speech or discrimination.

Keep shared stories confidential.

Leave room for the next sister's voice.

Treat the journal with care.

Include content warnings for sensitive topics.

đź’Ś If you've ever smiled at finding an old letter, pressed a flower between book pages, or wished for deeper connections, this might be the place for you.

One journal. Many stories. A sisterhood written page by page. ✨📖🌿

I built a space where strangers write letters to each other — across languages, across the world, with no profiles and no algorithm

I kept thinking about how much we write and how little we actually say.

So I built Dear Someone. You write a letter — a thought, a question, something you've never told anyone — and send it out to sea. Someone finds it. They can reply, or let it drift on to someone else. If they choose to correspond, it becomes a private exchange between just the two of you.

Letters can be translated automatically, so your words can reach someone who doesn't speak your language at all. A person in Quebec writing in French might end up in a correspondence with someone in Japan. No algorithm decided that. Just chance, and intention.

No profile to curate, no performance. The rules are slow by design: one letter a day, one new correspondence a week. It's meant to feel like receiving mail, not using an app.

It's free. No ads, no data sold. I built it because I wanted it to exist.

[23/M] Testing... Testing... Anyone out there?

Hi! I'm Cal, 23, and I'm looking for fictional pen pals!

I've always loved the idea of writing letters in character and letting a story unfold naturally over time. Since responses take time to arrive, having that time pass for the characters as well sounds incredibly appealing. Maybe they're friends, rivals, adventurers, researchers, or complete strangers whose lives slowly become intertwined. Either way, I'd love to build a story with someone!

I'm new to fictional pen palling, so if you've never tried it before, don't let that stop you! I'd love to figure things out together lol. I'm open to different settings and genres, fantasy, horror, mystery, sci-fi, or perhaps a mix of stuff sounds fun.

I'm mainly interested in email, though I'd consider snail mail too. If you're looking for a fun experiment told through mail, feel free to reach out and let's make something interesting :)

[32/nonconforming] Switzerland. Looking for creative fun and/or fictional pen pal. Genderqueer and aroace.

I am a collector, hoarder and very easily obsessed person and looking for someone to "match my freak" so to speak. I'm looking for a few things, so if any of those speak to you, send me a DM (lots of yapping ahead!)

  1. A pen pal to write "roleplaying" letters with. I have many characters and stories, and we can agree on one or be completely free and surprise each other. We'll write each other as our characters to break the monotony of real life! I can introduce some characters I like to roleplay as to "wet your appetite":
    1. Fume, a gangster from 1950 with a sharp tongue, a sharp knife but a soft heart. He's hiding a few things that could get him killed.
    2. John Crowell, a weird man obsessed with cinnamon and who seems always riddled with anxiety while trying to hide it with a charming smile. He wears an odd brooch that seems to move sometimes.
    3. Kael Thelas, a bountyhunter from a steampunk city. He's an a$$hole with bruised knuckles and a mechanical owl named Gadget. He might actually be a good person, but who knows.
    4. Miss Lachance, a writer of thriller books who almost got killed in a fire. Her books seem to predict the future. She lives alone in a hut in the forest.
    5. Damian Edwards, head of a scientific facility with a cybernetic left eye. He's deeply depressed and the only thing that brings him joy are animals who are albinos or leucistic - or naturally white.
    6. Carmina, a divination witch who likes to mess with people. She used to be a barbarian but after getting hit over the head with a rock she sees the future. She may or may not be married to a literal troll.
  2. We can write a story together. Can be anything from sci-fi, fantasy or thriller. I can't promise I'm equally good at all of them, but we can give it a shot.

(I am open for both of these options to dive into romance and/or adult themes, but only if the vibes match. I would prefer to keep it SFW and platonic. <3)

  1. A simple pen pal, just two people writing each other from across the world. Let me know about your day. What troubles you? What makes you happy? Have you discovered a new book, maybe a movie you can't stop watching over and over again?

A "little bit" about myself:

  • I'm very queer and while I don't make that my personality, it is a huge part of my life, my stories and daily struggles and joys. I'm genderqueer and aroace, so you gotta be either part of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally. I don't want or need hate in my life. <3
  • I collect. Everything. Stickers, washi tape, figurines, postcards, pens, pictures, keychains, fossils, plushies, mugs, magnets, tarot cards, furbies, feathers, gemstones, pins, and everything that is purple or rainbow-colored.
  • I love animals (except ticks and mosquitoes, and I sadly have a deep fear towards grasshoppers and anything that looks similar). I'm currently planning on getting millipedes and isopods as pets.
  • I collect LEGOs (mostly the botanical sets and anything with animals), but my wallet doesn't like it.
  • I am currently trying to write my first book, which is going to be a queer novel.
  • I suffer from chronic migraines and that can have an effect on my activity, but I will try my best to write back as fast as possible.
  • I'm a fan of many things. Bioshock, Minecraft, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Kirby, Cult of the Lamb, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, PokĂ©mon, Arcane, Monster Hunter, Alien, Godzilla, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Beetlejuice - and many more.
  • I am witchy and spiritual and love laying cards for people.
  • My favorite animals are horseshoe crabs, isopods, cats, bats, sheep, bees, bumblebees and hyenas.
  • I used to draw both traditionally and digitally and desperately need to get back into drawing because I've been neglecting it for the past months.
  • I can't enjoy things "normally". Once I love something I need to know everything about it. Favorite movie? Watched it more than 30 times. Favorite game? I'm watching hour long essays about them on YouTube.
  • I am probably forgetting a lot about myself as a person, lol, but I think I'll leave it here. I think I've yapped enough.

If you feel like we could click with anything I've written here, please, let me know! I would love to get to know people around the globe and share our weirdness, creativity and experiences together! Send me a DM and we'll see if we click. Please don't just write "hello" or something like that and introduce yourself to me! Doesn't have to be an essay, but I (sadly) ignore simple "heya"s or "how's it going"s in my DMs.

-Misha

Edit: It deleted my character overview by accident, lol. Just corrected that!
