Crown 35SCTT left brake dragging

I have tried to do some research on this but there is just not a lot online. I believe the brakes are on by default and they are electrically released. I am hearing a click that I believe is the brake release when I step on the accelerator. Right wheel seems fine (relative to the left at least). I lifted the left wheel off the ground and the lift would move before the suspended left wheel eventually "broke loose".

I am hoping someone has a manual or experience with this. I am not afraid to just start taking off panels and going in there without a clue, but any advice, pointing to a good resource, etc., would be appreciated as I am pretty short on extra time these days.

Thanks in advance, Darren

Clark C500-Y55-LP axel assembly

Hey guys. I recently opened a fabrication company and the shop I took over had this forklift someone stopped putting back together. My brother is a heavy duty mechanic but he hasn’t shown up to take a look. I’m looking at this and the amount of bolts vs bolt holes don’t seems to make sense. Any chance anyone can give me some direction as to the way this gets put back together

How did you find your forklift tech role?

I work at a forklift manufacturer with dealerships across the US. We are constantly struggling to find technicians. Curious how you find your current role as a road or shop tech.

One of those days

This is all of the oil I managed to get out of a K25 engine

Operator complaint was “unit feels slow, only goes 6 mph” when they should go 8-9. Hopped on it and immediately oil pressure light went off when I would get on the brakes. Dipstick was bone dry. Drained the oil and viola lol. New filter, filled her up and runs right as rain again.. These nissan K engines are fuckin indestructible.

Now only if we could get this customer to sign a PM contract so they can get oil changes BEFORE it gets to this point 😂

Forklift only starts with ether

I’m learning how to mechanic so apologies for the simple question. My lpg forklift only starts with ether but I have new spark plugs. Any advice on what to check to fix this?

Thank you

What is this brake component? Old clark forklift.

I don't know the year of this machine as there are no serial numbers remaining that I can find. But I replaced brake master and wheel cylinders. Trying to bleed the brake system but can't get fluid past this part. Wondering if can remove or bypass this part? Any input would be great!

1967 Clark CFY40 I hate to scrap

I have what I believe is a 1967 Clark CFY50B forklift that my father purchased used back in 1976. It has a busted bellcrank and spider arm that we have repaired in the past but will no longer hold a weld. I have tried to find replacement parts but to no avail.

I've reached out to several places locally to see if anyone would be interested in purchasing the unit for parts as it still runs well other than the steering issues. I hate to just scrap it when someone at some point may be in a similar situation and the parts from my unit could help them out.

This is my last ditch effort to see if anyone knows a place that may be interested in this unit for parts. I am located in Michigan.

Hey all! I have a job offering to be a forklift technician apprentice. At first I'll just be a shop guy. How long did apprenticeships take for yall to become full on technicians? Also when did yall start making decent money along the way? Do yall recommend this trade overall?

Toyota forklift cuts off

Hello all, our toyota forklift at work keeps cutting out after its been revved. It will idle fine and all, but as soon as you give it some rev it dies. Dies after 3rd rev in video. Weve had multiple local forklift mechanics look at, one changed the carb out, and the problems still persisted. Also, multiple mechanics have messed with the idle on the carb aswell.

Concerns on order pickers...

Okay, so I'm pretty sure I'm about to be thrown into using an order picker, and I genuinely have no idea what I'm doing lol. I'm on inbound hours right now, and they've got an Atomoving on the floor that I've been told I'll eventually be operating. All I've got going for me right now is a few YouTube videos, which honestly left me with more questions than answers. I don't even know where to start with these things. Like, how hard are they to navigate around a warehouse floor? And once you're up, how tricky is it to stay steady and actually do your job without losing your mind a little bit? I guess I'm just looking for some honest takes from people who've used them, maybe even people who were in my exact spot when they started. Is there a learning curve that fades quickly, or is it something that takes a while before it stops feeling weird? Any tips for someone who has genuinely never touched one of these before would help a lot.

Thoughts on a first fork lift: 2004 Daewoo G32P 10,000hr

I need to buy a fork lift for my small business. Very sporadic use, but I need to lift 6000lbs machines to unload from trucks, store some pallets on racks etc, probably will be used once or twice a week.
I found a local *high* time 10,000 hour 2004 Daewoo G32P. It is at a local fork lift dealer, getting checked over. They said they cleaned the fuel system, replaced the diaphragm, etc. It has a small hole in the exhaust, has a couple small leaks. Asking $6k for it.

Am I getting myself into a headache or should this be an ok machine?

Mitsubishi FBC25: 36 or 48 volt battery?

This might be a big "DUH" moment but I am new to this lift as I have owned it for about 2 years and I want to be really sure: Looking at my FBC25 nameplate it lists 'Volts: 36/48' Does this mean the machine is dual voltage and can run off a 36 or 48 volt battery?

I bought the service manual and it lists both voltages but does not explicitly state that you can connect either battery voltage. The traction motor horse power is given for 48V and does not list power for 36 so that along with the nameplate makes me think I can pick whichever battery and plug it in.

I currently run a 36 volt battery and need a new battery. Do I go 48? Will 48V give the machine more oomph on a ramp?

Toyota 42-6FGCU25

Have a customer that has this lift, the inner mast sheave broke off and trashed a bunch of hoses and a manifold before it wedges itself between the inner and outer masts. Engine has a coolant leak, all the hydraulic oil has leaked out, so it has no functions. Customer wants to get rid of it and replace with an electric lift. Is this worth repairing? Is this a "mechanics special" I should scoop up? Any tips, tricks, secrets I should know about this thing? What would you give for it, in this condition?

F%#k Me Friday

Front hrs steer arm damaged normal and time 4 hrs in/ out smooth but not on this episode of F%#*k me Friday it was hot/humid too and with the torch going
Side note: unit was a transfer from another district /front steer cylinder rod pin broke (was told it was welded 2x prior by 3rd party company & I personally would of welded it a 3x with a new cylinder rod end coupler but I didn’t write up this estimate always fun when you find out you have a big repair when you come home the previous Friday and there’s a solid 116 lb steer arm sitting on your eBay delivery plastic box ( thanks fedex ) but I digress
parts out it’s Saturday afternoon my laziness is wearing off and now I get to work on my personal truck 👍🏾👍🏾
too the weekend fellow techs 🍺

Raymond build quality

Anybody else out there coming across an insane increase in 2024 and newer raymond and rayota issues? From controllers and electronics, to just plain being built wrong? Mast shimming, design flaws destroying hoses, leaks right off the truck? Bolts and nuts just falling out? 70 percent of my service calls seem to be brand new trucks. Really killing my morale. Everytime i see one of my customers getting new machines, i cringe.
