Anyone Up For Playing Pokemon Red Version Together?

I have played pokemon red version multiple times in my childhood... and i am missing those days a lot.. so i am planning to play that game again, but not just alone.. i wanna play it with people who are into this. I wanna share the stats and journey with people of similar minds!

But as no one around me is interested in this game.. i thought it's a good idea to look for people online who are into this.

I am looking for people who are into GBA games and Pokemon.. and are willing to play fair without any cheat codes and love to share their journey.

If this sounds great.. DM or drop a comment!

Is this a legit color gba or reshell

I got this as part of a trade just curious I think it’s a reshell because I googled but I just want to make sure. Either way I think I’m going to trim it and put a backlit screen in I just love the color and a type c battery mod with a clean battery cover.

Daily driver GBA mod

I wanted to share my new modded Advance. This is not a display piece and is getting lots of use. I spent a lot of time planning and executing this and had a blast! As much fun as it was to do I probably won’t be doing another any time soon. Also all of the lights are way more purple than the camera was willing to pick up.

If anyone is interested, here’s the parts list. I’m happy to answer any questions about the parts I used.

1 GBA purchased from eBay as parts/repair.
Funnyplaying ITA/TFT laminated display.
Funnyplaying clear black shell (frosted).
Funnyplaying black buttons.
Funnyplaying clear speaker.
Labfifteen cosmic purple buttons.
Replacement purple power indicator.
Retrosix dehiss/dehum.
Enloop rechargeable batteries.
Gengar stencil eBay.
Fluorescent pink nail polish.
3 custom uv (black light) LEDs mounted in the back.
Adhesive metallic duct tape (wrapped the edges of the display).

If anyone is still reading, I thoroughly tested and cleaned the motherboard before modding. I wrapped the edges of the screen with metal ventilation tape to stop the light-bleed through the clear shell. The small ribbon cable connected to the display from the FP daughter board was being pinched (stopping the display from working when assembled) by the bracket FP provided, so I snipped a small plastic nub on the bracket. I used the LEDs and resistors from a black light strip I had on hand and tapped into a 5v source on the back of the board. The Gengar stencil is mounted to the inside of the shell. The UV reactive pink is painted onto a piece of plastic and adhered onto the board with double sided tape. I also removed the chip that controls the touch sensor connected to the display and wired in the brightness controls.

Sorry for the novel but I looked through a lot of posts to get inspiration and troubleshoot so maybe someone will find all of this helpful.

Classic NES Series Super Mario Bros, is it meant to look like this ? (The Goombas)

As far as I can tell the cartridge shell is real, my second most recent post has photos of the cartridge itself. And the game plays completely normal, but the Goombas do not look at all like they should. But besides that everything is fine

Working on my game engine

I replayed pokemon fire red in the past few days and have been wanting to build my own games.

I am an computer engineer, and game dev was interesting as hell always. I am trying to build my own game engine and the whole thing. It works on mGBA but not sure if it would work on an actual hardware. I would also like to create or make my own GBA yk?

My White Pearl 🤍

Finally took a moment to appreciate my Glacier White Game Boy Advance.
There’s something special about this color. It’s simple, clean, and in my opinion one of the best-looking GBA variants Nintendo ever released.
This one has been upgraded with a modern IPS display, making classic games look better than ever while still keeping the original feel of the console. Right now I’m replaying Super Mario Bros., and it reminds me why the GBA will always be one of my favorite handhelds.
Sometimes the oldest consoles bring the biggest smile.
What’s your favorite GBA color? 🤍

CALL THEM OUT WHEN YOU SEE IT

This seller ended up removing this listing. I feel like that was in good faith, so I’m not exposing who it was. eBay’s AI report reviewing software did not agree with my report and did nothing, and of course there was literally no way to appeal that…. So I messaged the seller.

But.. these are pretty easy to spot if you know what to look for. Be careful y’all!

Is this Groudon GBA legit or a Re-shell?

It's missing the stickers yet looks almost new, which is extra suspicious.

Weird GBA fault, anybody seen this before?

Im having an issue with my og gba where the device will boot the game with the green led lit, but after a short period of time the device will fizzle out. Like it will half shut off, where the display stops updating, becomes faded and has lines in it, as if the device was shut off but only half the effect. Sometimes the display will slowly fade over the course of 30 sec or so before the device becomes unresponsive. Upon rebooting the device, it will function for progressively shorter periods of time before simply getting a blank screen. The green power led remains on. I have opened the device and noticed nothing obviously faulty, other than some slight corrosion on the battery terminal, which I cleaned up a bit to no effect.

I am in an underdeveloped country, and while the batteries I am using are name brand, they are definitely not quality. I don't know if this is the issue, but the device was working with these batteries before and I have tried multiple sets now and get the same behavior.

Any Ideas?
