Need help ID’ing guitar
Hi,
I was given this guitar and and having trouble placing it. Wondering if anyone can help. Here is what I know:
Possible facts pointing toward it being a Fender:
> Neck head has Fender CS markings and 4 patent dates
> Neck is lightly flamed and dark lacquered maple with rosewood fretboard. This seems consistent with some Dealer Select 2019 Fender CS strats.
> Frets appear to be rolled, are well done
> Mother of pearl-looking inlays/dots
> Truss rod has spoke wheel type adjuster
> Neck heel date is stamped “2019-11-14”, under lacquer, aligning with the date on the G&G case of 2020
> The neck heal pocket has two markings, “G-14” in blue surrounds by a blue square, and a hand written red “A”
> Body appears to be translucent midnight wine
> Body routing cavity is well cut and covered in black shielding paint
> 2 1/16” string spacing
> Has a “Fender Tone” dual-contact output jack
> PW-29 stamped spring claw
> It came in a tan G&G -> Fender custom shop case with orange plush inside
Facts pointing toward a fake and or partscastor:
> Neck plate is unoriginal and was a fake etched Custom Shop number.
> No serial numbers anywhere
> The pickups have obviously been replaced with a drop-in loaded pick guard dated 04-21
> There is no COA or paperwork of any kind
> Markings are sparse to non-existent at the heal, heal pocket, and routing cavity
> The routing cavity seems unusual. I’ve seen alleged Fujigen Strats with a similar looking cavity shape.
Can anyone help me on this one? Feedback I’ve gotten ranges from it all being not Fender at all, to it being a Fender Dealer Select, Limited, All-Fender part-caster from different years/styles.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
