Haku no hi (8-9) live at BigCat Osaka
Today was Haku day (ha 8 and ku 9) in Japanese so the girls played at Bigcat in Amerika Mura Osaka.
Here’s my quick review of the show. The opening support was Homecomings from Kyoto. I’d not heard of them before except for Haku covering their song Us on Instagram. This song was definitely the highlight of their set. They played for about 45 mins and put in a very strong set. The drummer and guitarist especially stood out.
After a short break and set up Haku finally hit the stage and the gig was sold out. They opened with Spaceship heart which I’ll admit isn’t one of my favourites of their new songs and the mood seemed a little flat. But after that they launched into Universe of my mind and the place started rocking. The next hour and 10 minutes they took us though all the hits including Chokan way and Okubutae de Miru and Dedede which was rocking as always. I thought Sekai sounded better this time and maybe it has grown on me. Isshin was also a standout and I think it sounds better live than recorded.
They played three new songs which I am assuming will be on the album. Two were a little different and the last one they played in the encore sounded classic Haku.
I was hoping for Blue girl but sadly they skipped it this time.
I felt the sound was a little more raw than the last time I saw them on the Go tour at club Quattro in Umeda in March. Those gigs were being filmed for the dvd so I thought they may have been playing with a click track to stay in time. Tonight’s gig was closer to a real live sound but they sounded very tight.
The encore of one new song and kaitenshitekarakangaeru got the towels swinging over people’s heads. Very nice set and so nice to see them live and up close again. Sadly the next time they play in Osaka will be in January for the album tour. However Ai will play a solo show on November 7th with some other artists
New album's cover
Haku just posted the new album cover on their Instagram. I dug a bit and found the original image.
What do you think of this new title and artwork?
Buying tickets for Japanese shows from overseas
Is it possible to buy tickets to their shows in Japan from overseas? I will be in Japan this November and would like to go to one of their shows. It looks like they use eplus for their presale tickets which requires a japanese phone number. Do they also sell tickets open to non japanese residents?
Edit: I'm not interested in buying your scam tickets so you can fuck off with that shit.
Final Edit: The legendary Salt_Classic_5926 sent a link they were given after emailing the Band management or event organiser, which I have used to successfully get a ticket to the Sapporo show Nov 8th!
For some reason their message was deleted luckily I got to it in time.
