r/hemianopia

I don’t have any peripheral vision on my left hand side. It was caused by brain damage. They believe it happened at birth as I’ve never known any different. I’m 30 years old and female. I found out when I was 22 after the opticians did a visual field test on me for the first time. I was given an appointment at the eye unit drove there they told me not to drive home and I haven't been allowed to drive since. This is affecting me mentally now I’m aware of the vision loss I’m a lot more anxious about things. I think it’s affecting me mentally now more than it did when I found out, it’s hard to explain!
