With the imminent release of the new Oak Street film and its feathered sauropods… the topic of sauropod trunks from the 1970s and 1980s may well resurface.

This theory argues that the nostrils on their skulls were positioned so high up because they would have had muscles and a trunk to (for example) pick up leaves, just as an elephant would. However, I’ve always maintained that if evolution gives you a 15-metre neck (Mamenchisaurus), a trunk doesn’t make sense.

snoots: 10/10, very snoots. but this snoot? FAKE NEWS. his snootage is dedicated to camouflage, as his snoot (from the side) looks like the stem of a dead leaf, making mister american snout look like, again, a dead leaf (or a honorary weevil, dare i say) rather than a butterfly. these are elongated mouthparts; not a rostrum. still? very snoot nonetheless, and i applaud him on this part.

kjoots: depends on who you ask. who knows? someone could find his mischievous behavior as kjoot. and mistake him for a weevil, perchance. but if we look closer, do not be fooled.

boots: -10/10. mister american snout is a LIAR. he has NO BOOTS. and, since he is a brush footed butterfly (nymphalidae), and hypothetically a male butterfly, he only has the room for 2/3rds boots, as his foreboots are reduced and tucked up. he is a FRAUD to the community of honorary weevils. mister american snout? rejected approximately 33% of sheer boot capacity. a foolish mistake on his end. do NOT trust what he tells you, and do not be deceived by this false weevil. always look at his feet: see his feets? he is a barefoot fool. (he finds boots to be uncomfortable.)

summary: mister american snout here is deceptive, but do not be hornswoggled. he does have snoots (albeit for a different purpose), paradoxical kjoots. boots? absolutely not. he should be SHUNNED ❌❌ from the world of honorary weevils.
